Flip Murray could probably be had for a second rounder...
Rip Hamilton is a stain on the Pistons franchise.

i'm all for JR running the point. he needs some responsibility. he wants to be relied upon. it's hard to sit and watch him not get minutes.

NO NO NO to Gary Payton.
NO NO NO to more AI at the point.
what's wrong with you guys??

i don't know about Andre back here...i don't know if it would be the best fit now...it's hard to say. i STILL want Kidd, but that's a pipedream. he would be soooo good for a playoff run.

i'd like to take a chance on Telfair.
he's got something to prove, but i HIGHLY doub Karl would give him the playing time he would need in the regular season to build confidence for a playoff run.

i'd also like to take a chance on Tinsley..but again..Karl probably wouldn't give him the playing time.

Hinrich would be great, he seems to be in the dog house atm.

i'm almost at the point where i'd package something around Nene to get a quality PG...

I'd rather see the Nuggets hold off on a backup pg and play JR at the point for a while vs. signing some scrub sub-6 footer who gk will play 20 min a game along with Carter's 30+

I say try Payton out..he's cheap and maybe an upgrade over atkins...otherwise I say let AI share time at the point with Carter.

Better question...what is WRONG with YOU!

Keep Pipe Dreaming. This is reality and our BEST option is probably AI playing some point or bring in a veteran PG to try out.

People who realize that his lack of 3 point shooting would do far more harm for this team than good.

His ally-oop ability - think it's worth more than the 3 pt liability or less?

Najera, JR, slightly improved Melo, AI, occasional AC, a good Yak, and maybe Bobby Jones, and someday Von Wafer....seems like there's a lot of 3 capability there and add Dre back with his oop ability and it's still an upgrade from '06 finals plus we have AI.

As much as I bash JR, I'd like to see him get another shot at the point, at least as a backup.

GP is worn out.

everyone know i got man love for Kidd, so i'm going to stay away from that for now..

the only advantage having Dre back is that we know Karl would give him minutes.

i'd love to see either Alston, Hinrich, Tinsley or even Telfair (last option) on this team sharing minutes with AC and have AI at starting 2 with JR coming off the bench to fill either spot.

Mo Williams is a name that keeps popping up in my mind too.

Bibby MIGHT be a good fit..but IMO he's a bit too risky health wise..but i don't think he'd have ANY problem being the setup guy for Melo, AI, Nene and JR.

hmm who else...

highly unlikely any of that will ever happen.

we definintely need some veteran presence at the point, but not aged care type veteran. i'm talking 8 or 9 seasons veteran...not 17.

now before anyone starts carrying on, arguing, whatever about the players i've mentioned...remember, we're all nuggets fans, and this is just my opinion, you don't have to agree with it, but can we keep the BS out of it?

eddie doesn't hit enough, or consistently enough.
jr won't play more than 3 minutes a game in garbage time if andre miller is back with the team, khouba won't play at all, jones would be waived, wafer would be sent back to the d-league. karls love/rotation management......
iverson > dre > boykins > coby karl > carter > atkins > wilks >>>>>>>>>>>> diawara > jones >>>>>>>>> smith > wafer

we'd have iverson shooting ~32% from 3, melo shooting ~29%, eddie hitting 38%...every other game....and that'd be it.

as much as i love dre and want his passing back...that wouldn't get it done.

I'd like for us to make a move for Cassell, but there isn't much I'd be willing to trade for him. I wonder what the chances are that the
Clippers waive him. I think Charlie Bell might be an option too. He was unhappy when the Bucks matched his offer from Miami.

Yeah, but its not like AC can really shoot the 3 either. his percentages are good, but hes only made like 5, and they were all wide open. The one thing thats different if we bring Dre back is that we have AI to slize and dice his way through zones, which is just as effective as busting it with a 3 pt shooter.

If anything, J.R. deserves at least a shot at the backup PG minutes. I never would have thought that he would stay so positive after being in Karl's doghouse this long, but still night-in and night-out, he's the most enthusiastic cheerleader on the bench. That alone shows that he's matured.

He provides focused defense and an upgrade in athleticism and shooting at the point, not to mention it will boost his confidence, given the responsibility, and keep AI from dominating the ball even more.

Doh! I forgot Karl was coaching. Looks like Kleiza is our new backup PG. :banghead:
