you dont trade one of the best centers in the game today for a chance at picking the nest superstar in the draft. how many players have shown a lot of potential and flopped in the nba? whether or not you like to believe it, yao is good. he is damn good. he may have faults but who dont? you build the franchise around yao and mac.

hey now, I am all for building the team around Yao and Tmac but at the end of this year, if we don't make it out of the first round, we would really need to evaluate where this is going. It would have been a 4 yr experiment that didn't produce anything greater than where we got with Francis and Mobley in 03-04. It is safe to say that Tmac is on the decline and his value is on the same path. He still has some left though which is why I think Miami would give up their pick for him. Wade, Tmac and old Shaq might be able to win one last championship. Yao is definitely the best center in the league and if would be really tough to let him go but I might consider trading him for the number 1 pick. Beasley is a monster. There is no way he flops in this league. DeAndre Jordan could be Dwight Howard in a few yrs and he is from Houston. Derrick Rose is just amazing. Again, I don't know if I would trade Yao, but I would consider it.

Also, if Beasley is really a "beast", there should be some serious re-evaluation on here of how much credence is given to nbadraft.net

(http://www.nbadraft.net/admincp/profile ... asley.html)

"Carmelo Anthony" and "Beast" do not belong in the same paragraph. Scoring Machine, yes. Beast, no. That's assuming of course that beast is the term given to a guy who can get to the rim at will, grab more than his share of rebounds, block and alter a lot of shots and all the other terms that go with a dominant low post super-athletic heavyweight big.

Kevin Love is great player but im not sure how his game will translate into the pros. He's a gifted passer and can rebound but he is not that athletic and that can hurt him. I kinda know him personally. hes one of my acquaintances. i dont think hes gonna be in the 08 draft though

How about Kevin Love, is he any good?

Kevin Love is a great passing big and has a nice array of moves around the basket. Just when you think a guy with his average athleticism and footspeed can't possibly do something, he does it. But as mentioned, he's hell of a slow footed player and against NBA bigs who will both be taller AND quicker than him, not sure if he's going to be anything more than a good role player.

If the goal is to move TMac and with Bonzi Wells a free agent, I would think that Bill Walker (who appears to be fully recovered from the knee injury he suffered last season) would be the perfect pickup for Houston (and any number of teams picking in the mid-to-late 1st round).

Walker, before the injury, was being mentioned as an elite lottery pick. Great combination of physical strength and eye-popping athleticism to go with a never back down personality. At 6'6" he'd be a nice fall back to either TMac or Bonzi.

Only in terms of the passing ability for a big. Love doesn't possess near Webber's physical abilities (unless were talking about today's Webber) but has a greater repetoire of refined post moves (kinda have to since he's not going to outquick anyone).

Thanks for the insight, much appreciated!

His passing skills under a Adelman offense could be pretty valuable then, since I've seen we've tried to make Hayes into that role and it never really resulted into anything positive. :-?

Joseph Jones from A&M
6'9" 250lbs
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming
