I would offer Yi + filler (one of our bad contracts) for Pau. Memphis could do that as they are rebuilding and honestly I would be happy if Yi become as good as Pau. Think about that. Pau play good defense and good ofense, understand game and was champion playing complete team basketball with spain. I would indeed be very happy if Yi become as good as Pau. And he may be much worse for all we know. Also this fit in win now mode.

It's funny because alot of people outside of Milwaukee have no idea what you're talking about. I'm originally from Milwaukee where it's kinda common knowledge, but people here in Madison have no idea.

Speak for yourself...

I would prefer to see CV stick around, assuming he can get his stuff together. I'm not saying I expect him to be a top tier PF, but I think he could definitely be solid, and until Yi becomes more consistent, I'd like to have another option at PF.

Pau hasn't won in Memphis. What makes you think he'd win in Milwaukee? No doubt I'd love to get Pau, but not at the price of Yi, who is still unknown.

If the Bucks want Gasol they'll have to part with Bogut or Yi unless they believe Yi can move to SF full-time. Otherwise, you're moving one of them to the bench since Gasol would start at either PF or C. Now Gasol is definitely better than both but I can't see the Bucks bringing him and his contract in and sending one of those two to the bench.

What to do with The Boy in the Bubble? CV. I appreciate the principle of sell high. But last night's game was an extension of the "new" CV that I've commented on. That has the potential for being very helpful to our team.

I certainly wouldn't trade him for minor parts. Whether he should be traded at all is a decision that should be made by someone who is confident they know what's inside Charlie. That ain't me.

If I had to choose a side, I'd go for the side that says there's more substance to the man than many of you see.

You are overrating his defense

His offense is that of an elite big man, but his defense is not.

If we can get Pau for CV plus filler I'd be all for it. Move Yi to the bench, but that is not a realistic possibility. But at this point I wouldn't give up Yi or Bogut for Pau

Pau's best teamates in Memphis were Batier and Miller. That's it. He never played with big like Bogut or scorer like Redd

I don't actually. His defense is on Bogut level right now. Maybe even better than that because he is able to defend pick and roll and Bogut is not. I saw 5 Memphis games this year. Not great sample but probably more than you. He is good defender

The past four or five seasons trump your five game sample. Pau's not at the age where he simply can make large strides on that end of the floor like Bogut did this past offseason. Pau has not been a good defender at any point during his career. He hasn't been terrible either. He's been mediocre. If you expect Pau to come in here and suddenly improve our defense that's not happening.

Not only that, but you said he hadn't played with a guy like Redd or Bogut. Well, he won't play with a guy like Bogut because he'd likely be the return. I'll take Pau's teams ANY DAY over what we would have here in Milwaukee. I think you really underrate those teams and what they were able to do on the floor. Those guys played smart, efficient basketball. We don't do that here.

Spend some time reading what real sportswriters call Pau.

He is widely regarded as "soft" around NBA circles.

He would not improve our defense

I wouldn't trade Yi for him but I'd trade Redd and CV.

Then Pau could start at PF, where he likes to be. Yi can come off the bench and be sixth-man or he can move to SF at times.

It would be a massive talent upgrade getting a consistent 20 point/8 rebound/3 assist guy at starting PF.

If Yi then takes off, we just have a good situation, not a problem. In the meantime we won't have to deal with the inconsistency of CV, Yi and Bogut with front court scoring.
