OT: Why is Tommy Heinsohn alive?

Post#1 » by BR0D1E86 » Thu Jan 10, 2008 2:53 am

Mods can lock if inflammatory---

This is my first season with league pass so my first experience hearing Tommy Heinsohn call games.

I have literally never heard a worse commentator at any level down to high school in my life. The guy is beyond ridiculous.

Sorry, just watching their game tonight and I have to put it on mute the guy is such a clown.

I just have to laugh when Tommy goes off on the refs like he's doing tonight. He thinks the Celtics never commit a foul or travel or commit any other kind of turnover. He's a homer of the worst kind, but at the same time he's just so over the top when he gets going that I just have to laugh at him...

listen to Wennington & Funk over NBA Audio League Pass. They're way more entertaining. Plus the "live" action vs. the streamed audio lags, its sort of like back to the future.

Paul Pierce bounced on one foot anticipating contact that never came and got a traveling call and Heinsohn exploded.

He is without a doubt the worse announcer in professional sports.

LOL he is a joke. He should stated that Kenny Mauer(ref)should leave the league after calling a double tech on KG and Gerald Wallace.

Because it's illegal to kill him..

I love Wennington and Funk more than any of the TV guys myself, though a radio call is a lot different from a TV call because you have to describe the action giving a lot less time to fill which probably takes off a lot of pressure.

I'd rather have him than Red Kerr. Heinsohn is entertaining. Kerr puts me to sleep.

Bah, you couple the Boston accent which makes me want to hurl the whole state of Mass into the ocean by itself with a complete lack of insight into the game and top it off with the least objective color commentary (no small feat) in sports and you've got the worst announcer in the world.

Red Kerr is delightfully senile and a few completely off the wall comments a game and a dump of a building that people consider a charming landmark away from being Harry Caray.

I always felt like Kerr and Heinsohn were long lost twins. Kerr isn't as loud and obnoxious as Heinsohn is, but he crys about bad calls just as much

Harry Carray was entertaining. Red Kerr simply is not. Maybe they should allow Kerr to get drunk during the games.

Red Kerr has been SOBER all this time? :o

And Tommy is a goof, but if you listen to him with a view of mocking a sad, old, loudmouthed bufoon, a Celtics broadcast is entertaining in its own way.
