We lost tonight because
we decided rest was more important than the win against the Bobcats.
Rivers said after the game that Ray Allen would have played if it was a playoff game....that he felt great.
So obviously we gave this game away since we are trying to save some minutes and energy for more important games down the road.
I can see the philosophy in that and I can't argue with it much....but it still ticks me off that we lost.
I hope the players feel bad too.....losing when you're not suppose to is not good at all.

Because Ray Allen is injury prone.
But he's a pretty much a negative on teh court so it wasn't him beign out of the line-up that hurt, but it was the fact he got hurt and signaled all good things must come to an end.
This depressed the rest of the team with such emo ramifications that our defensive intensity was drained like a man with a nagging women wanting everything in the world done for her.
True Story.

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday wasn't enough rest?
Sure we played badly....still turning the ball over a lot but we could have still won despite playing badly.
Sitting Ray Allen or any other guy is going to hurt the team no matter what. If it's a serious injury fine....but if you can tough it out and be a positive for the team why not play.

Who rests players when the season is not even half way. I hope this give away game comes back to haunt you boston and you fall 1 game short of the conference race because there is still like 50 games left and detroit is not a long way behind by any means. With your starters playing so many minutes fatigue and injury is inevitable.

Thanks Troll. Actually Ray Allen has a pinched nerve in his back which has caused numbness and discoloration in his hand. It's not really serious but it is something that needed rest. You think we just rest players for the hell of it?
I'm pretty sure this game won't come back to haunt us. We still have what, 6 less loses than the Pistons who lost for the second time in a row last night. Why don't you worry about your own team instead of jumping on every Celtics loss. It's only loss number 4 anyway.
Edit: We lost last night because we didn't play defense for 48 minutes like we usually do. Outside of JRich being on fire we had some serious defensive lapses. KG and Paul said as much in their post game press conference. The fans and media have been spoiled because the C's defense has been so consistent. It just wasn't consistent as it should of been. That and Paul had an off night. Hey, **** happens. I just hope we don't have a bunch of reactionary posts this time around.

We lost tonight because:
- A couple of guys had off nights (Pierce 4-14, 1-9 from 3!; House 3-10)
- A couple of rotation guys (Ray and Baby) didn't play
- We just came off our biggest win of the year @ DET
- We had a letdown against a "lesser light" at home
- Said "lesser light" has some talented players (Felton, Wallace, JRich, Mohammed in the honeymoon phase of his trade) and was avenging a tough loss in their place on 11/24
- The Celts expected to win and got a little complacent and a little careless with the ball (I'm looking at you, starting backcourt), and didn't wake up unitl it was too late
- And most of all, JRich was ON F-I-R-E
Over 82 games, you get one of these every now and then. We're fortuante is took 33 games to lay an egg. It's just one loss - if someone offered 29-4 back in October, everyone would have jumped on it.
