ORL/SEA Kurt Thomas + Earl Watson

Post#1 » by HotSpurs21 » Thu Jan 10, 2008 4:32 pm

Kurt Thomas, Earl Watson, Mickael Gelabale, 2008 SEA 2nd, 2009 NJN 2nd
for
Carlos Arroyo, Pat Garrity, Keyon Dooling, JJ Redick, 2008 1st

Seattle:
They dump Watson's contract, while swapping their own 2nd for Orlando's late 1st for Kurt Thomas. Gelabale is not getting any playing time now and seems destined to the D-League, so they send him and a 2nd rounder for Redick, who can take Szczerbiak's role as shooter in the future.

Wilcox/Swift
Green/Collison
Wally/Wilkins
Durant/Redick
West/Ridnour/Dooling

Orlando:
They sacrifice their own 1st, but do get 2 2nd rounders back as compensation. Redick is not getting any chance here because of his lack of defense, so Gelabale, a decent defender, should have a shot with them. They get a good vet big in Thomas to toughen up the team and can help out Howard on the glass. Watson provides better backup at PG off the bench, or can even play alongside Nelson at times.

Howard/KT/Foyle
Lewis/KT/Augustine
Turkoglu/Gelabale
Bogans/Nelson/Evans
Nelson/Watson

Change that from SEA 2008 2nd rounder to Nuggets and Blazers 2008 2nd rounder and we should have a deal.

I could really see this deal happening. I think the Magic & the Lakers are the front runners in the K Thomas lottery.
