Iggy is a 5-tool NBA player. There are maybe 6 to 7 of them in the league Max. Iggy's only problem is his demeanor. He does not have the mentality to want to take over a game, and be the main shot taker. That does not mean he isn't skilled, or very saught after. Cause he clearly is. Iggy is not a 3 or 4 option. That's just a stupid, and ridiculous statement.
Once Iguodala has that go-to guy, hopefully on the inside at PF, he will then be more comfortable playing, and using his 5-tool skills. A dominate inside player, who will draw double teams will open up the floor dramatically for Iggy, our PG, whether that's Miller, or a newly drafted one. As well as Thad Young.
I agree that Iggy won't likely ever develope that # 1 mentality that a true # 1 has to have. But that is not to suggest that he does not have the overall complete skill set that few in this league has.
Sure players like Pierce, and Redd, and Vince Carter all have that mentality, and all average more points. But those guys have never led their team to any sort of success without MAJOR help at other positions on their teams. And none of those players have anywhere near the overall 5-tool skill set that a Iguodala has. Until Iggy is afforded the same opportunities that Pierce now has with KG & Allen. Or Carter did once he got a younger Kidd & Jefferson to play with. Not to mention a then healthy K-Mart. Until then, saying Iggy is nothing more than a 3rd or 4th level player is absolute stupidity!!
