Aw, come on. Don't go blaming the ref for this beer fart. And by the way, when we lose it's called the "Ashes and Butt", not "Exploding Cigar" Award.
Pierce played lazy, Eddy played lazy, Perk was a stiff and Rondo couldn't find the basket after the first. I actually thought we spiraled downwards when Doc put Paul and Garnett back in after we built up an 11-point lead. They immediately imploded.
That actually brings me to my next point: Doc needs to learn to ride the momentum of his players instead of bringing the stars back for the sake of bringing them in. It made no sense last night and our momentum came to a screeching halt.
It's OK to say the Refs are screwing us when the ref's are screwing us without sounding like a whiney homer. There were at least three instances when we were making a run to get back in the game and Kenny Mauer single heandedly turned the momentum back to the Bobcats. It makes less sense to blame Doc for last night then the refs. Celts are down 9, the bench gets them back to 75-70, at this point you want Pierce and Garnett back in the game to continue that momentum. It wasn't Pierce and Garnett who brought the momentum to a screeching halt, it was Kenny Mauer.
