Your best offer for JJ Redick

Post#1 » by y 2 a B » Thu Jan 10, 2008 7:20 pm

Just curious to see what other teams would give up to get a pure shooter like JJ on their team. I don't really want to trade him as a Magic fan, but he hasn't really cracked the rotation (mostly Stan's fault), but if a deal is out there to improve the team, he might just be expandable.

Craig Smith, Gerald Green, Micheal Doleac for JJ Reddick, Pat Garrity, James Augustine and a top 20-protected 1st.

Personally for ORL, I like Cliff's deal from CHI, but would the Bulls really do that?

Kenny Thomas would actually have a little use in Orlando, but I don't think Salmons or Garcia have the usefulness to ORL to justify KT's contract.

How about Brad Miller + Kenny Thomas? Yeah, a rebuilding SAC would be struggling for size, but they could then deal Bibby or Artest without getting constant rejections from KT being attached.

Of course not, but they should. It would accomplish the following:

- Bolster the guard positions via Dooling + Redick vs. Duhon.
- Clear PT for Sefolosha and Thomas at the 3 and 4 positions.
- Save some money via Dooling + Garrity's expirings (though Cliff Levingston would probably want to re-sign Dooling if possible).
- Pick up a nice asset in the rights to Vazquez.

This actually made me burst out laughing! The analysis was good, but the brutal honesty was GREAT!

I don't think Redick has much value. Orlando's expiring contracts have value as evidenced by this thread, by Redick himself is worth only a high 2nd round pick. He wouldn't start on any team in the league and few teams will give up a first round pick for a 2nd string SG.

Lakers offer: Sasha Vujacic and '08 2nd rounder.
for JJ Reddick
So how about the lakers trading away their 4th string pg/3rd string sg for orlando's 4th string sg. And the 2nd round pick can be additional compensation for the Ariza trade, which hasn't benefitted the magic all that much.

Is Cliff Levingston really so down on Nocioni?

Yep, but Cliff Levingston won't go into a big evaluation about him in this thread.

You're welcome.

John Paxson is in love with Nocioni for some reason.

No offer from Utah. We already have a first-round-shooter-who-hasn't-proven-anything-yet in Mo Almond ;)

I think Nocioni would get you more from Orlando.

He prolly could, but not from Orlando. We have plenty of SF's. That said, I would do Carney for Redick straight up or throw Redick into an Andre Miller deal.
