Randolph to Milwaukee???

Post#1 » by Smills91 » Thu Jan 10, 2008 3:42 pm

I'm trying to think as to WHY the Bucks would want Randolph...going through possibilities, I really only see one that I would do if I were the bucks.

Bobby Simmons/Dan Gadzuric for Zach Randolph/filler?. The incentive for the Knicks is that Simmons deal comes off the books a year before Zach's and that they just get rid of Zach.

I don't think the Knicks do it...cutting salary has never been a consideration for them in the past and Simmons/Gadz are much less talented than Randolph.

Oh i agree with you here, but seriously, if they want to get 'rid' of Randolph if that's an offer on the table, do you take it just to get RID of Randolph and hope that Simmons/Gadz provide some heart, defense and energy? I mean seriously, who wants Randolph?

I would even trade the bane of my existence, Kenny Thomas, and an injured SAR for Randolph....he has SIGNIFICANT negative value IMO.

The "reporter" that claims this has a rather dubious reputation--more for being an ass than for making up rumors. He hasn't exactly been known for breaking news, but I think he has in the past (just don't remember what).

Probably one of his more famous "news breaks" as the story goes, was telling Blazer Beat Reporter Jason Quick that Portland had decided on hiring Marc Iavaroni as head coach. Quick reported it taking John on his word and of course Iavaroni was never hired.

In all, he may have taken said call, and even heard the words he claims uttered on the other line. But that doesn't mean this info is exactly credible.

No I wouldn't....Z-Bo is a black hole, no defense playing PF that has an additional year of big money on his contact..I WOULD NOT trade Kenny/SAR for his cancerous stat pads.

It makes no sense for the Bucks, even if they are able to unload Simmons and Gadz, where would Randolph fit into the Bucks (who would still have both CV and Yi). Yi is the Bucks PF of the future and Zach would only happer his developement and teach him bad habits. I see no reason for the Bucks to do this, unless Randolph was sent to a different team in a 3-way trade.

No, I agree with you here too..the Oregonion IMO tries to rival NY Post/Times/Sun/Newsweek (basically any publication out of NY almost) in tabloid news stories and incredibility.

Goddamn as if it weren't bad enough that you paint all Knicks players with a broad brush but now you're talking about our non-nypost newspapers. Do you hate NY because you had a bad experience here are is it just because so many of us liberals happen to live here?

I don't hate NY at all...I'm calling a spade a spade. I read papers all across the country EVERY day...the NY papers either fabricate, exaggerate or falsify MANY of their stories so they can SELL papers. It's pathetic, but it's true. The Post, Times, Sun, Newsweek are NOT credible sources for ACCURATE information. Now if you're comparing them to the Globe, Enquirer etc then they're in good company.

I don't see why Milwaukee would do this trade. If healthy, they're one of the best offensive teams in the NBA. They need defense, and Randolph will not help them in that category.

Talent upgrade? Absolutely. But adding talent for the sake of adding talent does not help unless it's a good fit. Same reason New York is (reportedly) shopping Randolph.

Do the Bucks really hate Michael Redd so much that they'd add Zach?

Zach is a very skilled offensive player, but he demands that the ball go through his hands all the time. He never passes, and refuses to play either man defense or team defense.

If the ZBo-to-the-Bucks rumor is true, I can only think its because they want to see Randolph hit Redd like he hit Ruben Patterson.

The numbers Zach can provide would certainly be a plus for the Bucks-a team not deep in talent. However...the issue then is that Zach + Yi are both pretty much PF's,neither would seem able to play much at the 3 or 5,yhough you could run Zach + Yi togather for a stretch.

Personally....If I'm the Knicks I'm more inclined to move Curry and keep Randolph. I think a future coach might get Zach to be a more complete player than he is. Curry? Rather than add to his game-he's regressed a bit.

You wouldn't trade two guys who combined average 20.3 minutes, 3.1 points, 4.4 rebounds a game in exchange for Randolph. And then he has the nerve to bring up money. To top it off the Kings would actually save money until the 3rd season after this deal. Its really pathetic. Hell I wouldn't want Shaq on this team because I think he's done but I would be stupid if I were to say I wouldn't make a deal for him in which we only had to give up Jerome James, Jared Jeffries and Malik Rose. My god, I would think people would be embarrassed to a homer like this and yet this guy is proud of it.

Sweet were going to unload Simmons and Gadz for Randolph! That would be the only trade Id really do though. Id add VIllanueva I guees. I wouldnt mind Randolph but certainly wouldnt go out of my way to attain him.

Listen if Zach comes to Milwaukee, it does not make sense. I think this dude from the OR paper is wack. I mean unloading Simmons and Gadzuric heck yes, but then there has to be another trade comin. Cause I hope that Bucks don't trade YI unless a deal we can't refuse comes.
