2004-05 season
33-49 team
Sunday Nov. 21st, 2004
Beat Spurs at ACC 96-91
we didn't beat them in San Antonio...but i think we came back from a 20pt deficit to win the game.

Well, that's the point. But apparently a 27 win Raptor team did. Just like we beat those 73-9 Bulls  It's either the OP was taking an attempt to re-write history or was thinking of something else

First off, saying that JRich is stronger than Pierce is laughable, PP is the 3rd strongest Sf in the league behind Lebron and maybe Artest. As for his defense its not just Celtics fans, anybody who has seen Pierce this year can see he is a very good defender and if you watched any of the game last night you would know Pierce was in JRich's face all game but he hit one contested jumper after another.

Voila! Mavs vs. Golden State--but the opposite problem. Golden State won because Mavs couldn;'t keep up the pace-- Boston lost because Charlotte plays very slowly, and hammers the post on the late cut almost everytime down the floor because of their erratic perimiter shooting.

The big thing that everyone missed with the Warriors last season was that they went 16-5 down the stretch which (not so coincidentally) was exactly when B.Davis, S.Jackson and J.Richardson returned from injury and they had their entire team healthy.

So while everyone thought that Dallas was running into a weak #8 seed who was barely better than .500 on the season, when healthy, they were actually playing like a 50+ win team down the stretch and blowing quality teams out in the process.

Also, don't overlook the Don Nelson fiasco, and the fact that the Warriors were tied in the season series with the Mavs. GS was eliminated the following round in 5 games, and I doubt they would've beat the Spurs or the Suns (in the first round), despite playing hot down the stretch. There aren't many mutual things between the Mavs-Warriors and Celtics-Cats, but it's just to illustrate another case of a lower seed team having one of the top teams number or being quite competitive with them.

Baron Davis is sick. Absolutely unstoppable offensively. It's amazing how isoing him at the top of the key just makes the game all his. You better blow them out, that's for sure.
