Raps Realgm Forum's Negativity Is Hurting Our Team

Post#1 » by jeffya2 » Thu Jan 10, 2008 10:29 pm

I have felt for a long time that Sports writers, announcers, coaches & ESPECIALLY PLAYERS spend a lot of time reading this forum

The negativity on this board lately is wearing me out so I thought I would see what some other boards are doing

Number Of Team Posts: In order from home page

Raps: 953,200 {Mostly Negative}
Knicks: 829,730 {Mostly Negative}
Bulls: 517,174 {Mostly Negative}

Yep we lead the top 3 & are in real some real good company here

4th most posts: Boston 359,820 {Positive}

We have a negative cancer here {some ...not all} that is hurting our team & players. We will eventually drive our players hearts & contracts away :banghead:

lol what do you expect from the teams you posted?

As for us, floating around 500 doesn't help this board at all.

Smitch never reads RealGM. That's why he doesn't know how to coach.

O No It's the End of the World!

But seriously,
have you seen boston's board last year when their record is bad?

First of all, the celtics have positive posts because they are amazing.
We all understand why the knicks have negative posts...and we are not at their level of bad, so I agree, this board is somewhat negative.

However, I hardly believe that it effects the actual team! How exactly do you know the players and the coaches read the form?

Unless I hear Bosh or some other player say "I'm hurt by the mean words spit out by the awful bullies on realgm" i won't believe that we are hurting the raptors' playing abilities.

I agree ... this board is way too fickle and have the "what have you done for me lately" mentality.

I feel lucky to have the Raps who still show so much potential and are always exciting to watch win or loose.

Wait, Boston is 27-4 so their board is full of positive posts? And the Raps, Bulls and Knicks are all worse than last season so their fans are complaining?

Fascinating....

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors,they have zero to chance to win it all.

These are the top 4 posting boards in numbers, not 4 selected teams. Perhaps the negativity is NOT helping these teams situations. Sports is as much a mental game as Physical & we have sure messed with All of our players heads here for a very long time

I'm just amazed at how the Celtics board was miraculously able to stop posting so negatively at the end of the season which obviously changed the culture of their team. The Raptors board could learn a lot from those visionaries.

Agreed. the worst part is the media pandering to the realgm species. the crowd here is representative of the rest of the fans and unfortunately the media knows that. and so they write. and a circle of negativity that has plagued the leafs is infecting the raptors world too. it used to be feschuck but now most of the media is either addressing the redundant issues on realgm or reflecting the negative sentiments. either way, both cases maintain the negative atmosphere. and all of this gets back to the players and the management.

before you know it, just like it happened to the leafs, the idea that only change is good, since that's the only way the egotistical mass of fans can feel hopeful, will create a revolving locker room door. which makes me appreciate the restriction of the cap system a little more.

YES I DO. it's upsetting coming here to read about my team & there is seldom anything positive said.

My negativity is NOT towards our team but to the many HATERS that live here
