Who's got the best Work Ethic in the NBA?

Post#1 » by RoxFan08 » Fri Jan 11, 2008 3:00 am

Who works the hardest to improve his game? Who could serve as an example to all the athletically gifted but unmotivated players in this league who are playing right now? Who's a role model to you or your kids?

I'm gonna put Yao Ming out there. The guy works all the time, the whole year. Shows up for games 2 hours early to get extra work in, works relentlessly even when injured on uninjured parts. The guy is a role model, and great guy to boot.

No questions asked.

Tex Winter and Phil Jackson have said that Kobe works even harder than MJ did.

Every year, Kobe comes into the league with something new. Some years(04-05), he weighs 240 pounds to take the abuse. Some years(05-06), he weighs 220 pounds for stamina. This year(06-07), he weighs 205 to be quicker on defense.

Kobe Bryant has the best work ethic. That's how he became The Greatest of All Time.

TD - Who else in the NBA can say that he has done more than him with less physical ability. Reason why? Work Ethic.

Kobe - His greatest strength his entire has been his Work Ethic. Proof. His Career.

KG - No one else can boast that he can play all five positions effectively. Reason why? Work Ethic

Take your pick... you will not be wrong if you pick either one of them.

Why does Kobe shoot 43% then? Is it lack of ability or lack of work ethic?

lol not Goat Status yet but definetly Hardest work ethic ... Threads unfair its obviously Kobe should be top 5 ...

As far as his 43 % goes he had a groin injury, shoulder, Hand and couple others and he toughed it and tried to contribute with his presence on the Laker team ... not to mention like someone mentioned this last off-season he focused strictly on Defense ... His offense comes and goes but if they need him to score ... believe me he will team game working this year better for him though

People don't know that Kobe doesn't have nearly the physical powress as Lebron, TMac, MJ, Dr.J, Wade, and Vince.

What makes Kobe competitive with them is purely his work ethic.

Nobody knows the work ethic of players that don\'t talk about it to the media, and 99.9% of players don\'t talk about it

i was just wanting people to laugh at my joke

what do you mean when you see physical prowess though? are we saying he lacks strength or athleticism b/c id disagree w/both of those statements

anyways i dont think people understand how hard dirk works, i didnt want to come out and just say it but he works as hard or harder than anyone

KG, TD, Yao, and Dwight. Just scoring two points is a full workout for them with people grabbing, poking, and hitting them. Also, they're always trying to get better. Dwight spends most of his shootarounds practicing his FTs. TD did the same thing to improve his FT shooting, and that's how he got his jumper in the first place.
