OT: Why are many people saying Lebron will play for the NYK?
I always hear people either joking about it and even being serious about the fact that in the not too distance future Lebron will sign with the Knicks. Even on the Score during NBA highlights they half-joked about Lebron playing for the Knicks.

I think Lebron would do it too, even though he's an Ohio guy... Especially if the Cavs keep surrounding him with that garbage cast.. he might think if he could take last year's mediocre squad to the Finals, why not the Knicks? And theres the challenge of making them relevant again too.. Although Cleveland would hate him for the rest of his life....
Can you imagine the Knicks giving him a max contract, Nike giving him that extra $100 million on top of his existing contract, and then another cool $100- $200 mil from various other opportunities? This guy could easily become that billionaire athlete by the time he retires..

Well, didn't LeBron sport a NY Yankees hat to a Cleveland home game? The fans were booing him and telling them to take it off, and he just sat and laughed at everybody.
LeBron loves the big time, the glamour, the stardom... and this lack of humility is probably the only thing that is turning the average joe fan against him.
As a result, it wouldn't be surprising to see LeBron take off to play for the Knicks. If this were to happen, he would probably get a max offer sign-and-trade and the Cavs would get some compensation (though nothing could compare to what they are giving up). If I were the Cavs, I would say "screw the compensation!" and force him to have to sign for the MLE. Sure, LeBron would make more than the difference in endorements and that Nike contract, but that $5-6 million per season salary would definitely hurt his ego, lol.

most knick fans should be that delusional by now. if i was a knick fan i'd dream of anything to get away form their reality. hope that never happens. isn't lebron from the cleveland area? why leave home to play for new york. create a dynasty where they only come close only to b shut down by MJ.

It's cause Nike will give him more $$$ if he plays in a city like NYK.
I don't know about you...but LeBron isn't the type of player who'll end up on the Knicks...it's usually the surreal-life type of players who end up there.

My name is Taiyab, and I realize there is an intra-team conflict at the Point Guard spot.

BTW, any team in the league would give him max contract if considered by LBJ.
So the extra $$$ are from the biggest NBA market that is NY.
And, yes, LBJ is the type that goes for $$$, I would not be surprised if he's leaving Cleveland.
This is actually the only problem I have with him. While being an unselfish player on the floor, LBJ is selfish/business only outside the court.
Remember when he refused to sign a protest petition on Darfur killings (signed by his team mates) just so he would not damage his business relationship with the Chinese communist leaders.
Also meeting Waren Buffet and declaring that he wants to be the first athlete billionaire.
Yep, he'll bolt sooner rather then later.

I'm pretty sure Tiger Woods is about a decades time away from becoming the first billionaire athlete.
I think you're probably right and if it can stop LeBron from going to NY, someone should let him know that particular ship already sailed.
Even so, NY's gonna have keep and use a high draft pick well so they have something of real value to offer Cleveland in a S&T, 'cause the crap on their roster now won't get it done.

I'd imagine Beckham is pretty close - he has more endorements I think than Tiger and LeBron - and is known more worldwide - he is a marketing icon.
In any case LeBron will go to New York for one reason and one reason only. He really, really, really, really likes money. He probably wants to have enough to get all the statues of himself that are around his house covered in gold and diamonds.

A new GM, letting contracts expire and grabbing LeBron as an UFA in a few years...
Haven't looked over the contracts they have but I am presumming some have to be expiring in the next 2-3 years.
