Andre Miller has two very big deficiencies. His lack of range really (IMO) makes it harder for Iguodala to drive. And maybe one that could play defense would help.

That may be ... I don't necessarily agree with your analysis ... but back to my original question .... where is the point guard that is better than Andre Miller ? (that the Sixers can get)

It may very well be that we have to suffer over the short term to get the point guard we want a few years down the road. I'm certainly not denying Miller's talent, but his age is too big a question mark to me. If he were 27, I'd be all for keeping him, but he's 32 in two months. I think Ed's taking a risk here, let's hope it pays off.

How is keeping Miller a risk? His contract expires next year it's not a long term marriage.

dbodner wrote:Unless trading him for a #1 player (or a player with potential to be a #1 player), it doesn't make sense to move him. .....
Getting a player of Iguodala's caliber isn't easily replaceable, and moving him simply because he's not what you're currently asking him to be would be a huge mistake.

FG=42% / 3FG%=34% / FT%=71% / REB=3.7 / A=4.6 / S = 2 / TO=3.2
Now we are giving up on a not yet 24 year old payer who currently has these averages??
FG=44% / 3FG%=32% / FT%=77% / REB=5.7 / A=4.5 / S = 2.1 / TO=3.1
