so far Battier is still struggling with his outside shots
Wells is unconsistent (cause by his shoulder injured or not)
we will be in good shape if Battier can hit 40% from 3
and Wells consistent drawing fouls and going to the line

battier is at least up to 37% in 3pt which is pretty good, considering he and all our shooters shot around 28-30% earlier in the yr).

plus head and brooks didn't play much earlier in the year.

again, it's not up to tmac having to adjust and all this. it's up to the role players remaining confident and doing what they do (be aggressive, shoot with confidence when you're open, attack the lanes if they're there...). tmac will still get his 18-20 shots. yao will get his 18 shots. they're superstars.

but the role players can't use tmac as a crutch (don't give the ball to him so easily and actually try to do something with the ball first). only look for him if the play is for him or u need a bailout.

the reason phil likes dfish is b/c he doesn't look for kobe all that much like the other guys. and that mentality has spread to the other guys. kobe is now taking 18 shots only (a BIG difference from the last few yrs when he has taken 25-27 shots a game).

I was disappointed when I read Fran's blog. Fran says:

"If you're gonna use the word 'supposedly,' then why should I bother? He's (TMac) told some people that he doesn't really think the offense can work. --Fran

Hope that is not true. Because TMac is a great fit for Adelman's system, if he is willing to buy into it.

actually it's dropped to 37%
he was up to 38% at the end of 2007
shooting only 20% in Jan when the rest of the team are playing good
i agree the role players can't stand there and watch T-Mac
all of them need to continue to play their game

exactly. they just need to do their job and do them well. tmac loves rafer and support rafer even when the team brought in francis and james. so i'm sure tmac is happy that rafer is doing this well. so when tmac returns, don't give him the damn ball the moment he gets past half court. run the offense. if the play is for tmac, then run the play for tmac. just don't give him the ball for the damn of it.

but again, we also forgot head and brooks didnt play much when tmac was playing. head is shooting 43% overall and 38% on 3s. brooks is shooting 46%.

instead we had francis and james bricking more than a bricklayer.

sucks that tmac will be back playing v. the spurs immediately (i think he'll be back v. philly though). b/c of the knee, he hasn't ran much so i doubt he'll get more than 25 mins a game.

both Yao and T-Mac need to get the ball at the end of the play to score
you don't want them to score and be the playmaker for the rest
