JWill
Seen the report today about Colangelo being interested in JWill.
I think it would be a great move for Toronto especially as he's an expiring anyway but I don't see what you'd offer to Miami for him.
Any ideas/thoughts?

If it's that article in the Sun today, you're wrong. That article speculated that Colangelo's interest in a point guard could include a guy like J-Will.
But it probably doesn't.
Even though J-Will is expiring, the imminent return of Ford would mean a far too crowded back court.
Mitchell said it best.
Guys like Sergio Rodriguez could play that role, or a d-leaguer. But I can't see any of Stoudemire, J-Will or Ridnour fitting whatsoever and their names shouldn't even be thrown out there.

"If there is something that we can do that makes sense, fine," said head coach Sam Mitchell, when asked if he would like another point guard on his roster. "But whatever we do, it has to be with the understanding that T.J. and Jose Calderon are our point guards. As long as those two guys are healthy, he won't play."

J-Will is injury prone and VERY overrated. He is not a pass first guard that both Sam and Bryan love.
Damon's days are done. He wants playing time, and he won't get here in TO. He doesn't get it in Memphis who are now starting their rookie guard over him.
I would love to see Ridnour, but he won't come to be a 3rd string point guard. Plus, if the plan is to bring Roko over next year, then it makes trading for a point almost ridiculous unless it's a no brainer trade.
Look in the D-League. See what's available there. Look overseas, see what's over there. There are alot of options other than trades.

When I first saw the thread title, I thought BC was after Jay Williams (the ex Chicago Bull). I wonder how he's doing these days, and if he's still working out and planning on making a return one day.
How would you guys feel about taking a chance on him this season? My guess is that a D-leaguer would be more capable right now. I'm surprised I haven't seen his name thrown around this board too much during this whole T.J. injury thing.

Williams has been out of basketball for over a year now and is lucky to be walking, let alone playing basketball.
I don't think he'll ever play professionally again.

Bringing in Williams makes no sense.
Unfortunately Sam keeps forgetting to do that. Delfino plays a game doing that and looks good. Then they didn't have him handle the ball again till the 4th quarter last game. I missed a few quarters here but that is the way I remember it. I wish Sam would listen to you though.

I think the problem is, Delfino is our defensive stopper and sam sees that as his #1 job... with backup PG duties given lower priority.
I like Delfino in that position, though, as he is one of the few Raptors who can actually put the ball on the floor and penetrate the defense.
