Except when he asked Carlisle for a couple months off during the season so he could work on his rap album?
I would still pay hard money to have seen Carlisle's face at that moment.
Nah, Im serious. He DOES have one of the BEST work ethic.... He is the hardest working Kings player in the team IMO....

Tex Winter and Phil Jackson have said that Kobe works even harder than MJ did.
Because he has to....I mean my truck has to work harder then my car on the highway and it still doesn't go as fast.
But hey, Kobe must be the hardest worker. I mean look at all those commercials he's made telling us about it.

A lot of guys work out crazy hard, I'm sure there are scrubs out there that put more time into their game than the stars because they want to keep their jobs.
All-time there are too many, Oscar, West, Kareem...
Today. I know Kobe works out hard. Nash has to, best shooter in the game with amazing handles. Dirk has obviously put in countless hours perfecting his shot so he can take it at all those wierd angles, a 7-footer with handles. Howard is supposedly a workout freak, looks like it too. I don't know how many hours KG puts in but I remember Paul Shirley talking about how insanely hard he goes during practices. On my team its probably Josh Smith, came into the league as a jumping jack SF with very little skill but brings something new to the table after each summer.
By the way, where did this myth of Kobe not being an elite athlete come from? He was billed as a "hyper-athletic" shooting guard coming out of high school and won the dunk competition his first year in the league. He elevates easily on his shots, has a blazing first step, incredible agility, etc. I know people want to further the legend, but come on, there are very few shooting guards with that type of athleticism. He may not be in Jordan's class, but there aren't too many guys that are.

Sorry to be a homer
But Redd went from second rounder, to unplayed rookie, to all star in 3 years.
He's improved his game every single year. He doesn't have the talent as a Kobe or Lebron. But he became good enough to make their company on Team USA
He also went from 19% body fat (I know, horrible) to under 6% in one year
