Maybe if they blew philly out by 40 points people wouldnt be so negative, but a 10 pt win vs one the worst team in the league after blowing a 20 point lead and losing the game before is hardly anything to feel positive about.

I swear, it seems like every post-game thread, there's always some clown around here who's diasppointed that we didn't win 150-75 and turn the game into a Globetrotter/Washington General-like rout.

Every victory is precious, whether it's on the road vs. San Antonio or at home vs. the Sixers.

Jaded fans like you make me sick... the Raptors are a .500/2nd round playoff team building for the future, not a league powerhouse that can take every sub.500 team for granted.

There is a very small percentage of players that visit this place or any other sports forum and I highly doubt there is more than two raptor players who visit here. I always find it amusing on message boards where fans talk as if they are taking to the players and actually making a impact in their game be it negative or positive. The people that hate and the people with nothing but love all preach really to themselfs. For example you read all the daily bargnani garbage on here everyday, you actually think Bargnani visits this place or gives a rats butt about some kid rattling off negative things to say?

Here is the deal with Raptor fans

1) Most if not all Raptor fans from Canada were once and probbaly still are Maple Leaf fans wether you want to admit it or not. Everyone knows the hyperbole activity of Leaf and hockey fans in Canada and that would explain alot of sillyness.

2) Id wager that 90% or more of the members on sports message baords and this one for sure juding by reading here are in the age range of 10-16. Clearly when dealing with kids who lack understanding of life, sports and just about everything else your going to have some real weird people pop up.

3) Raptor fans are spoiled rotten, in one year Colengelo turned this from a laughing stock into a playoff team but the purpose of him being here is not to just be a playoff team and his plan all along has been to develop his young players and then add when the timing was right to make a major run. Some of you just do not understand this and have set the bar way to high not only for certain players but for this team this season.

In short reading this board as an outsider for a while now I dont think its the team that is suffering from all the negativity I think it is the fanbase who no longer get enjoyment out of coming to places like these and talking about what is or once was their favourite team. Sometimes reading team boards especially this one its as if some fans are trying to talk other fans into disliking a player or team as much as they do and in the end that ruins it for all.

Ya'll have alot fo growing up to do

In this day and age, especially with the players getting younger and more tech-savvy, I have no doubt that there are many players reading forums and internet message boards. How many of them actually care about what is being said? Probably not more than a handful. Most of them are probably just looking for a laugh.

With people like TJ Ford publicly stating they watch their own highlight videos on youtube (presumably Chasin's), it's not too much of a stretch to assume they've found their way here.

Raps won last night by 13 pts and the post game talk was more about what was done wrong by the Raps as opposed to what was done right.

I posted a number of times in different threads addressing this and even blogged about it.

Good point. And although Michael Grange of the Globe is an excellent hoops writer, he was focusing way too much on the negatives on Wednesday's game against the Sixers on his From Deep blog. And he did not mention one, not even one, positive point from Wednesday's game. It seemed he was pis*ed that he didn't cover the game for the Globe that night (Larry Millison filled in). And also Grange wasn't too pleased when Sam Mitchell decided to give his team a "hug" after Sunday's loss to the Cavs.

A note about Michael Grange and the Globe: Craig Daniels, the former hoops columnist for the Toronto Sun and copy/Sports editor for the Globe, was known to be very negative in his columns towards the Raptors, even when the Raptors were winning and making the playoffs back in the Vince Carter days. It looks like Grange has spent too much time with Daniels and it appears that Grange is writing his columns and blogs with a more negative edge and tone. :noway:
