Cassell to Houston

Post#1 » by ClipperEric » Fri Jan 11, 2008 8:20 pm

The Rockets need a third scorer to help Yao and Tmac get over the hump and go deap into the playoffs. Bring Sam back home for final Championship run.

What will you give the Clips to get Sam?

We want one of your young guards:
Rafer Alston
Luther Head
Aaron Brooks

I'm assuming you don't want to give up Alston. Its going to take multiple players to make the money work.

Your not getting Aaron Brooks, or Alston. You might get Mike James and Luther if you threw is some sweetener...

for

James + Luther Head

I don't think Luther Head is available until the McGrady situation is handled.

You wouldn't get Alston or Aaron Brooks. Besides, the way that those two have been playing lately (especially Alston) there is no need for the Rockets to give up anything of significance to upgrade that position at this time. And again, I don't know how much of an upgrade it would be.

Clippers say no because of James' contract, even without throwing in Ross

This is an insult to Sam Cassell.

Seriously. I wouldn't to Cassell for James straight up, let alone dealing our best wing defender as well. Sure, it's only two more years for James, but that's one too much without getting anything really for Sammy and his expiring

Well thats sort of the point of having Head in there. Head is playing some great basketball lately, and I wouldn't actually want Houston to make this deal. I love Sam, but I want players who will actually contribute on the court. James is useless, but his contract isn't that big, and we aren't going to be under the cap with or without him, so I don't really care much about it.

why not Francis and Snyder for Cassell. Francis can still play but needs to know that hes going to get solid playing time.

And we have Ross in there as well, who's our best, and really, only perimeter defender.
