Fleetwood MacBull Retires. World Mourns.

Post#1 » by DuckIII » Fri Jan 11, 2008 9:01 pm

It is with mixed emotions that I announce that fleetwood macbull has decided to retire as a moderator. I say the emotions are mixed because we all selfishly want to have him remain as a moderator, but know that what prompted his decision was an excellent career opportunity that will command his close attention. We all wish him well in that endeavor.

For my own part, I'd like to note, for some of you who might not know his full history and value to this Bulls' board community (and realgm in general), that fleetwood was a critical component of the "old guard" that really got this board on track. He worked hard on the board and behind the scenes to elevate the level of discussion at realgm and to turn the Bulls board into what I can safely say is, today, the best message board on the internet for fans to intelligently discuss Bulls' basketball.

In addition, fleetwood mentored a number of us current mods when we were getting our feet wet with our new appointments and duties.

So three cheers for fleet, one of the absolute best, and likely the most important, moderators this board has known over the years.

P.S. - Not that Fleet could be replaced even if we tried, but realgm will not be looking to fill his spot at this time.

I for one hope that you Fleet can hang around and continue to post every so often, can't say I have known you as much as others as I am fairly new to the boards myself really(June 07), but in the short time that I have been here it's clear that you are a very valuable member to the boards who is highly respected by both me and everybody else.

Enjoy the retirement dude.

Fleet and Slim were the very reason I started posting here back in 04'. It's been a privilege to be called a mod during the same time you have and good luck with your job. I consider fleet a true friend and thank him for helping us make our jobs easier bud.

I still have the original PMs that fleet sent me when I first started as a Mod.

I wasn't supposed to say anything, but we kicked him off the mod team because he's a closet Eddy Curry fan.

This new opportunity is just allowing him to go mod the Knicks forum where he can hang out with Bernard King and discuss Eddy Curry 24/7.

And seriously, Fleet was the one who convinced me to be a mod and who helped me figure everything out at the beginning when I was a clueless noob. I was glad to have him back (since he was on hiatus for awhile) and sad to see him go again.
