I'll give love to Kobe -- but the answer has to be Yao Ming. His work ethic is ridiculous, and is the entire reason why he has transformed from a frail jumpshooting 7' import into the dominating low post center he is today. Yao Ming is the type of guy who puts up 35/17/7blks, then doesn't even wait for post-game interviews before heading to the weight room to prepare for the next contest. (True story.)

Last season after breaking his leg, as soon as he was out of the hospital he started shooting hundreds of shots from his wheelchair. The guy worked so hard on his conditioning that he played nearly 90 minutes on a back-to-back earlier this season and never once showed signs of fatigue - an amazing feat for a 7'6" 305lb guy.

Steve Nash anyone? Bad player to start, poor athletic build, yet he is a two time MVP, a fabolous player. Why?

Work Ethic

I'd say it goes like this:

1. Kobe
2. Nash
3. Yao
4. KG
5. Duncan

I bet there's a bunch of scrubs in the NBA who work just as hard as Kobe and those other guys.

Man people are saying Kobe, even though the only reason he's good is because he's gifted.... :nonono:

By the way, where did this myth of Kobe not being an elite athlete come from?

KG summer routine:

http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball ... g_details/

starts at 7 am:
90 mins. weight training
90 mins drills/ 5 on 5 scrimmage

some of the drills:
-garnett gets the ball in the post and wears a cable, one guy tries to yank him out of his position and another tries to steal the ball.
- sprints while pulling a man connected to him by cable.

I read somewhere else (i don't remember where) that Garnett begins his workout regimen three days after his last game of the season.

If that were true, then they would be good players. You are only as good as the work you put into it.

I HIGHLY doubt that. Some guys just don't have the physical ability to succeed at that level.

What's Kobe's physical ability then? He's worked for the skill set he has now.
