Bulls @ Sixers Postgame Thread: When easy is never easy...

Post#1 » by kulaz3000 » Sat Jan 12, 2008 2:35 am

The first quarter, was terrible to watch. Our shots weren't falling but we compounded that by turning the ball over to feed the Sixers offense.

The second quarter, our shots started falling and we kept our turnovers down which didn't lead to easy fast break points for the Sixers which subquently stunted their offensive output. They are a terrible half court team, thus it was importan to keep our turnovers down. We were down by 18 early and ended the first half leading by 5.

The third quarter, we kept out turnovers down, begun to crash the boards harder and took smart shots. Philly players looked like they gave up and play continues to be sloppy.

The fourth quarter, it looked like two teams just going through the motions. The only player that really played like it was still a close game was Noc. But besides him, the Sixers played like they were going to lose, seemingly satisfied with just trading baskets with the Bulls. And the Bulls were playing just to keep the lead without really exerting any extra effort to stomp on them and finish the game early in the fourth to make it a blow out. The Sixers actually captialize on the Bulls laziness to take over the game, and get back into the game. Of course, the Bulls make some crucial turnovers late in the game to allow the Sixers to make a game out of a game that should have ended much earlier in the fourth.

Our best players. Noc and Joe. Joe is just dependable and consistent. Gives a consistent effort game in and game out, and also a very smart player. Our best front court player by a long mile. Noc whilst battling the flu gives us one of his better scoring efforts tonight scoring 26 points in 30 mintues on 11 of 18 shooting alnng with 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

Honorable mention. Thabo. He played really well in the second half when we were making our surge back into the game. He handled the ball smartly, rebounded well, defended effectively and actually made some shots. Boylan decided to be stingy with Thabo in the second half and didn't give him any significant mintues. Thabo did make two big free throws when the game was close at the end of the game.

This team is mentally weaker than any I've ever seen, and I saw teams featuring Ron Mercer, Jalen Rose, Jamal Crawford, Marcus Fizer and Eddy Curry.

Because we have no true leader on this team, that has a true killer instinct.

nothing is easy with this team. noc and smith had nice games. wallace was a no show as usual and thabo was solid in limited minutes.
I have a soft spot for tall, skinny, athletic big men who have little offensive game.

Noc's thought bubble. "I swear i had him i my arms a moment ago. I swear!!"

Boylan. "Noc and his freakin' defense..." (sigh)

I think that people are going to have to start getting used to the idea that there is NO TEAM in the league that we are SUPPOSED to beat. We are not a good team by any stretch of the imagination. So at this point, you take wins any way that you can get them. I notice after every game we win, there is complaint after complaint about how bad we looked despite us winning. Take the win and get on to the next freakin game.

Does anyone else agree with me that most of Kirk and BG's "WTF are they doing?" moments in regards to their ballhandling seem to come late in close games? They might have a moment like that earlier in games, but more seem to happen late in tight games.

Maybe that's just because they stand out because they are the ones that really kill the team?

That one play on the dribble handoff was poorly designed and even more poorly executed. Whether the main fault was Kirk's or BG's I don't know...it was just ugly. They are lucky Noc, Joe Smith and Thabo picked them up and they were able to hang on for the win

We need players who don't like losing. We seem like we don't mind it losing. We don't seem like we put our best effort out there a complete 48mins. With us being so predictable on offense really hurts us.

Norm Van Lair seems to running for a coach position for the bulls.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

I cant understand why its so difficult for us to finish a game. That was supposed to be a blowout in the end. WE can never finish it easy.

Late in games we have such a hard time inbounding leading to so many turnovers. We went to wallace twice, which if philly was smart/quick enough to foul probably would have cost us the game.

I guess this is Boylans style..be in the game every game and only just grind it out for a victory or loss.

Because we are not a good team at this point. Much in the same way that Philly isnt a good team. Hence the reason they coughed up an early 18 point lead.
