PG: Smitch sucked, Knicks are disgustingly awful
Not the best coaching job. Next game: home to Portland.
EDIT: guess I have to defend my critcisms of Smitch. OK well...
1. Why was Bosh in the game for so long? The reason the game got close was because we tried to force the ball into a Bosh who was tired and Balkman and full of energy and jumping all over him. The game should have been that Bosh was rested, comes in the 4th and beats up the Knicks and walks off happy. He got too caught up in getting Bosh his 42.
2. You were up by 17 with 4 minutes left...you put in Hump for Bargs. Bargs wasn't playing bad, you're team is playing well and you take out the guy who needs shots and PT to get into a rhythm.
3. Martin was in the game for too long. The offense was stagnant and he left Martin in to die with it. The game got close and Calderon had to finish it up.
4. 4th quarter collapse...sound familiar? If they were playing some decent players they would have blown that lead.
5. Sam just didn't have his team focused for the last 5 minutes, they lost composure and the young Knicks jumped all over them.
I hate to be pessimistic, but Smitch did a really poor job tonight. They could have blown this game and the fact that it got remotely close late in the game is not the player's fault, it's Sam's subsititution pattern and his inabillity to ensure that his team is able to close games especially against a team like the Knicks.
