Are you being serious?

I'm not sure how to respond to your question.

I'm not sure if you're asking cuz you think that my trade suggestion is so "out of left field" and absurd that I shouldn't even bother posting this in the first place or if you're really asking if "I am serious" about this.

I'm simply trying to guage what Bucks fans would think of this trade suggestion.

Unlike other Pacer fans....I have ZERO problems moving Granger ( as long as he is packaged with Murphy ) and we get back players that would make sense for the Pacers. We need a solid Combo-Guard and a decent Big Man that can rebound, defend and score on occassion.

On talent yes, but consider that our FC would be Murphy, Yi and Bogut and we would have 3 SF's buying for time in Simmons, Mason and Granger.

I really don't like Murphy at all and he does nothing to help Yi and Bogut.

That's cool. I was going off of the initial post that was suggesting that the Bucks were looking for a SF that can defend.

BTW....I'm probably going to be the only Pacer fan that you will find that even thinks that trading Granger is an option. I'm just trying to figure out a way to get players that fits our needs....assuming that we do nothing and continue to hold onto JONeal :banghead:

Not a huge Murphy fan either but he would be a solid rotation guy and a vet...there would be a logjam at the 3 but I just really like Granger's game and to me he would be a huge upgrade at that postion....couple this deal with perhaps Simmons or Mason for a back-up combo guard and I think your team is better.

I can't believe you are a Pacers fan. That is one of the most one-sided trades in favor of the Bucks I've ever seen.

How do we get Granger for our garbage (er sorry flintstone, I mean to say role players)?

You just want to give us Danny Granger for three scrubs?

You realize that Gadzuric's contract is just as long as Murphy's and he is an inferior player, right? And you realize that Charlie Bell has had about 4 good games and is shooting in the 30% range this year...

I guess, yeah... I would do this in a heart beat obviously. It's one of the most lopsided trades I have ever seen.

What we really need is Simmons our very own "SF that can defend" to continue to get his game back. That's what we really need. Slowly but surely he is getting back into form. Both mentally and physically. Not a sure thing obviously, but there is still some optimism there.

On the trade front our biggest need is two fold. We need a FC player who is athletic and can defend in place of CV, that is not Troy. And much less likely, but still a need, we need to replace one of Mo or Redd in the starting line up.

I think your trade was a solid attempt and talent wise we probably win out. Its just that from a team perspective we don't really need Murphy and as you said if Indiana parts with Granger it may cost you a penalty in Murphy.

I don't see Bell as a scrub. Jake is serviceable and Gadz maybe could be effective on an up tempo team.

I bet you Pat Riley would still take Bell in a heartbeat. A slump is a slump and Bell is somewhat sensitive and gets effected by forces outside of basketball too much, but hardly a scrub.

being the only real Bucks fan I know, I scan this board everyday seeking info and whatnot... but I really don't post much. it kind of seems like a bizarre little competition, to be honest...

anyway I was wondering... do any of you think we're NOT going to make some sort of deal?

I mean, with all this talk, it would be a let down if didn't at this point wouldn't it?

thanks for indulging me.

From a Contract POV...I completely understand that overall...the $$$ works out to be the same ( I pointed that out earlier ). I'm more of a realist when it comes to Murphy's contracts....I know that it's near impossible to move a player like him...hence the sweetner in Granger.

As for Gadzuric.......as long as he's able to run the floor well, rebound, adequatly defend the paint and score on occassion ( basically what Jeff Foster does for us )...then I'm fine with that. I am of the belief that we need more players like Gadzuric then players that does nothing more then rebound/defend then players like Murphy...ones who shoot.

As for Bell.....I always thought that he was a solid SG that could shoot the 3pt shot and defend the perimeter pretty well. My assumptions about Bell appear to be off...I didn't realize that he was having such an "off-year".

Thanks for all of your input.

If I could make one trade it would look like this:

Trade ID #4404266 (Trade works in the trade checker)

Bucks Trade :

Charlie Villanueva
Maurice Williams
Bobby Simmons

Neets Trade :

Jason Kidd
1st round Pick

To me Jason Kidd is the best player in this deal bar-none and a top 50 all-time player. Redd, Bogut , and Yi , all three would instantly become much better players playing next to someone who knows how to set his team mates up . To me Kidd is the kind of player that makes other players look good, and he would clearly be the team leader no doubt about it . If kidd stays while Yi and Bogut grow , and we get a better bench, I could easily see this core being contenders .

YOU WIN!!! :D

I don't know what to think, now that doing what we're supposed to for a few games took us a long way out of the ugly spot we were in. Maybe we just didn't make it to the tipping point for a big change.

And then with the way our team is set up (Yi not doing well enough to trade CV, Simmons and Bell still trying to ramp their way back up, Mason getting so many minutes when he's healthy, PG might should be a combo with another point next to him) I don't even know what a smaller move would look like.

I don't see a reason to dump Harris with the names they're mentioning and the way mgmt operates, so I'm probably more tense about any move being a stupid one.

If what a local "insider" says is true and that is the Senator does not want to deal Villanueva I think there is a better then average chance that no deal gets done. of course there could be some sort of a minor deal that really wouldn't help much other then possibly clear a bad contract.

I'd like to see Redd moved if anything major happened.

for these reasons:

- I like watching the team play without him.

- I like Mo at the 2.

- and when Yi had 29 and Redd throwing up shots w/ 3 people in face ALMOST blowing the game for us along with screwing Yi out of 30. that just says a lot to me....

later goddy.

Have you ever heard anyone ( your contacts) mention Kidd . I like Mo W. , but IMO he isn't a good PG, this team needs a leader at the PG spot and Kidd is one of the best PG's to ever play the game IMO .

Would the Warriors take Bell and filler for MP?
