Teams Interested in Current Kings
It seems like most of the current threads including the Sacramento Kings are connected to the same reoccurring handful of teams
Cleveland is interested in Bibby but doesn't have the pieces to get him.
Knicks are drooling over Artest
Miami sought either one before they tanked
Orlando has hinted at Brad Miller.
Geoff Petrie is very tight lipped and patient with regards to these things so it's kind of hard to tell what may or may not happen, but I think most Kings fans would be very surprised if there wasn't at least one deal go down by the trade deadline (most likely moving Bibby or Artest, and possibly both in seperate deals)
Other than "The Usual Suspects", which teams are interested in players from Sacramento?

Toronto could really use Artest. Our wings arn't that great, and our team really lacks toughness. Could help on the offensive end quite a bit too since he'd be replacing Jamrio moon who teams cheat off of since doesn't have much offensive game.
What would the Raps have to give up to get Artest?

I think that Petrie would probably expect Calderon as part of the deal, which would have to wait until TJ Ford got back but since he's already been cleared it's possible.
One idea I had was
Artest & Kenny Thomas, 2nd round pick
for
Calderon, J. Dixon, Jorge Garabosa & Rasho
but that's just one idea. I could see the Kings adding Douby to that deal possibly.

I haven't heard that ORL is still interested in Miller. He would either come off the bench, or Turkoglu and Lewis would slide down, and Hedo cannot guard SGs.
NJ, however, would probably do the Collins+Magloire+1st deal for Brad. Not sure if that's the best value for him, but it's on the table.

Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

Agreed. They'd probably be sending a top 5 protected pick.
Anyways, Houston would probably be interested in Artest, and would have been interested in Bibby before the emergence of Alston/Brooks. Artest/Battier centered trade involving two or even 3 teams might work. No, Houston wouldn't be willing to take Kenny Thomas in a one year rental involving Battier, just to clear that up.

Since I don't see Artest and the community in Utah being a good fit, there really aren't all that many pieces the Jazz would like.
I expect the price on Salmons is higher than we'd be willing to go, and Garcia would be pretty close to lateral. What we need most of all is post defence, and the Kings can't offer us that.

The Kings send Artest AND a top 5 protected 1st for Calderon?

You people do know that Calderon is a definite free agent this summer (Artest will more than likely be too but he at least has an option) and is less than 2 years younger than Artest right?

Yeah, except Calderon is a RFA and Artest would be an UFA. Big difference. Calderon is also a great team guy and he is still improving. I wouldn't do Calderon for Artest and a 1st. Ford I would though.

With the Rashard Lewis trade, didn't Orlando send at least 1 1st to Seattle which means the Kings would have to wait until at least 2010 for the pick?
Miller's having an amazing comeback and I think proven that he's worth more than just a salary dump.
