I don't usually post anymore, but I went to that high school 7 years ago and even filled in on the basketball team a couple times. Such a sad story. It's going to destroy a town that small. My prayers go out to the entire community.

Wow. This is worthy of praise and I hope other regions follow suit.

Two hotels in Saint John are offering school groups free accommodations if the roads are too dangerous to travel.

The management of the Fort Howe Hotel and Courtenay Bay Hotel made the decision on Monday following a weekend accident that killed seven Bathurst High School basketball players and a teacher.

The roads here in Moncton were terrible that night when they left. It wasn't snow, there was just a very thick layer of ice formed on the pavement, it would have been impossible to drive on. Poor kids. :(

I knew one of the kids who died... he was a family friend of my brother's girlfriend (actually three of the kids were family friends, but I hadn't met them, to my knowledge). I was actually dragged to Javy's 16th birthday party last year since my brother was going... he was a cool kid who had a great life ahead of him.

Such a tragic event. :(
