Isiah Thomas is apparently running out of time.

The New York Daily News on Saturday reported that New York Knicks owner James Dolan is finally running out of patience with his coach and general manager, and is planning to replace him before the end of the season.

The Daily News report says that Dolan has told confidants he realizes a coaching change needs to be made.

The New York Post, citing an unidentified source, reported Saturday that Thomas told a friend he was considering stepping away from coaching to concentrate on the team presidency.

"That was a lie," Thomas said. "That was just a flat-out lie. I would never, ever, ever quit. Ever."

Thats probably what will happen since it falls in line with something that Dolan would do. I still cant get over that he got that extension last year for briefly being in a playoff spot despite still having a losing record lol.

I thought that the moving of Isiah to coach made it easier to fire him. But for some reason he still hasn't fired. Frankly Isiah is far more resilient than I'd thought possible.

players and coachers are different things... you dont just get rid of a player because of fans... you can try shopping them for a replacement but you never get equal or better value... right now new york is basically the 2nd or 3rd worse team.. unlike Houston's gamble this team is not going to get much worse with a new coach.

This wouldn't even be a question if Isiah wasn't paid so damn much. I just don't get it. Just because you're New York doesn't mean you have to give a huge contract the a guy no other team in the league would want.

Dolan needs to remove Thomas as coach and GM. New York needs a new start, a fresh perspective, and a coach/GM combo that players and fans can respect and have confidence in. Thomas needs to be completely removed from the Knicks landscape, that's priority one.

I thought about this and well do we really want Isiah gone? Why???????? The man provides countless entertainment and is a constant source of ridicule. The ill-advised trades that destroy chemistry and capspace. How can you not love the hilarious looks that he gives while he is on the bench???
