Jan 11 Nene took an indefinite leave of absence from the Nuggets on Friday to take care of a personal medical issue.
Advice: The Nuggets wouldn't comment further on what was wrong with Nene, who missed 22 games earlier this season after surgery on his left thumb. "I'm very upset that I have to put a little delay on being with the team to take care of my health," Nene said in a statement. "It's hard to go through when things seem to be going so well. ... I want to get back on the court as soon as possible to help my teammates." Nene is averaging 6.4 points and 6.4 rebounds in 12 games.

Jan 11 Nene took an indefinite leave of absence for a personal medical reason on Friday.
Recommendation: According to the team, it is trying to support Nene's wishes and respect his privacy and will release more information when it becomes available.

this sounds veeery crtical to me. the fact that his family is with him because of personal medical reason and the way coach karl talked about it sounds like he has cancer or a tumor or something like this...
he thanks god for showing him signs of his illness that he can react to it. that sounds pretty much like something of that category

"When I heard it (Friday) morning, that could have been either one of us," Nuggets guard Anthony Carter said after scoring 14 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter of Denver's 113-103 win. "It almost brought tears to my eyes. . . . He's like a brother to me."
Carter said he doesn't know what the issue is but that Nuggets coach George Karl told the team Friday morning it "could be" serious.
Karl said "nothing is definitive" as of yet as to what's wrong with Nene. Karl said he still must undergo some tests, and more should be known within a few days.
"I think everything's going to be OK, but there needs to be a strength, a support that comes with people just hanging out with him and making sure we're with him and want him back, need him back, need to get him back, and I think we will get him back," Karl said.

Woah... you are talking about Cancer. I knew a kid in middle school who had Hodgkins. He sadly passed away. I hope he doesn't have to go thru chemotherapy or has that. It is no joke... it really **** you up. Hell, he might need to go to a sperm bank due to the fact that he might become impotent from all the chemo if that is a part of his recovery and treatment.
