Houston/Chicago trade via AM1000(TMAC Rumors thread merging)

Post#1 » by shugknight » Sat Jan 12, 2008 11:38 pm

My brother just got home saying he heard on the radio (AM1000) that T-mac was just traded to the Bulls for Ben Wallace, Tyrus Thomas and a 2nd Rnd Pick.. Any truth to this?

I haven't heard anything but I can't see the Rockets doing that without a Hinrich/Gordon player.

BTW, Chicago Bulls Live is currently on ESPN 1000 and they aren't discussing a TMac trade.

If fleet was still a mod, this thread would already be locked.

Yeah when I first heard it, I couldn't believe it cause we weren't giving up anything.. but my brother is the last to lie about these things, so I had to ask here. I did a search everywhere, and so far they're all rumors. I'm hoping to hear that this is somewhat true and they're just working on the small things..

actually tho t-mac is one guy i don't really want. I suppose for that deal i would but unless u feel like u have a realistic shot at a title in the next year or 2 i don't see how t-mac would help

I'm glad u did open back up.

I heard it as well over the radio. But is was on 103.5FM (for those in chicago area) from a random caller. The caller didn't want to believe it either, but he inform the host that his father called him with the information.

The radio host replied "You better be right"

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

I heard it myself. Carmen Defalco and Norm Van Lier were on ESPN 1000 talking about how the rumor developed on an FM station in Chicago (sounds like 103.5). They called many connections and got zero confirmation from their sources.

Sounds like a rumor, but the OP shouldn't be lambasted for bringing this to the board.

This trade does work in the trade checker, so whoever made the rumor atleast did good work on it.

I wonder why Houston would do this exact deal though? I could see Big Ben getting his mojo back in Houston, especially since he can play at the 4 in that line up. This would allow Yao to be more comfortable when he goes for his 14 - 18 ft jumpers. Ben would be their for the rebounding on the offensive end and play well on the defensive end alongside with Yao.

However Tyrus would need minutes at the 3 and would be playing behind Ben. Houston may think that they can develop him at that position so that when Ben's contract is up that would be his replacement to play along side Yao I guess. Which wouldn't be a bad idea. However I would have thought that they would have asked for Hinrich or Nocioni.

If the Bulls could pull this off this could be a good thing depending on T-Mac's health.

any trade involving Ben Wallace leaving is a plus for the Bulls

but I dont believe it will happen. I dont really want McGrady but i'll take him over wallace

in other news, the Celtics lost again
