I won't believe it till it actually happens. Apparently Dolan was supposed to fire Isiah Thomas three years ago lol. I honestly think Isiah must have something on Dolan.

I hate the Knicks. I hope they keep IT.

the knicks of today are officially the worst professional sports organization i have ever seen. off the court and on, they are a plight on the city of new york, their fans, the nba, and american business in general.

who is this dolan character anyway? how could he have let this go on so long? the biggest no brainer ever is getting rid of IT, but we knew that 4 years ago and yet, he is still employed...

God I hope not. He might make the Knicks less funnier to watch.

Unless he stays with the team as a GM, and then we can still enjoy the show.

isiah says he has no plans of quitting or getting fired

The New York Post, citing an unidentified source, reported Saturday that Thomas told a friend he was considering stepping away from coaching to concentrate on the team presidency.

"That was a lie," Thomas said. "That was just a flat-out lie. I would never, ever, ever quit. Ever."

Isiah Thomas is a great coach. New York should be more appreciative.

For obvious reasons (I'm not a masochist), I hadn't watched any Knicks games for a couple months, until they faced the Raptors last night. I've never seen a team in such disarray...even the Raptors during the 'Vince wants out/the coach is fighting players' era a couple years back.

Watching the Knicks implode was entertaining for a couple seasons, but at this point it's hard not to feel for New York's fans.

In a perfect world, he should be kept on as a coach and fired as GM imo.

Maybe Dolan will grow a brain and hire me. I could make New York a contender easily.

Don't worry though I wouldn't forget about you guys, my RealGM homees, I'd still keep it real and post here.

But seriosly , what happens if they fire I.T and the Knicks still play terrible , then what ?

Its funny how everyone blames Isiah , but a lot of the heat should fall on the players as well .

IMO

Ya, seriously. It's not the Coach Thomas' fault the general manager keeps acquiring a bunch of team cancers.Coach Thomas has done everything he can do with this horribly constructed team.

Thomas the General Manager did a worse job this season than Zeke the Coach. He may be a good drafter but his overall construction has been very poor. I never agree with his trades.

He'll eventually relinquish his coaching position sometime towards the end of this season, or going into the next. But this should have happened months ago. It's amazing how far it's gone.

I don't think Zeke is going to relinquish either of his positions. His quotes today suggest he won't give up. And I think the Knicks are privately hoping for a high pick in the draft now anyway.

Same here.

Isiah is a very funny coach. Without him it is just like Chappelle's Show, the Lost Episodes.

Still from the Marbury trade....

2008 first round draft pick to Utah
New York's own 2008 1st round pick to Utah via Phoenix (top 23 protected in the 2008 Draft, top 22 protected in 2009, and unprotected in the 2010 Draft). [New York - Phoenix, 1/5/2004 and then Phoenix - Utah, 2/19/2004]

Anyone see this team turning it around by 2010? Me neither.
