Shaqzilla back to Orlando

Post#1 » by stick » Sat Jan 12, 2008 9:31 pm

Purely for fun, so Heat fans can do their usual if they want, but come on you are 8-28 and this deal is actually not bad at all, so since it's for fun keep the comments on the mellow side.

Hedo Turkoglu
Tony Battie
Carlos Arroyo
Pat Garrity
Keyon Dooling
JJ Redick
Fran Vasquez

for

Shaquille ONeal
Smush Parker
Daequan Cook
Alexander Johnson
Chris Quinn

I actually think, it would be a bad move for Orlando. One step forward, two steps back.
But, dang I would love to see Shaq and Dwight together.

Cook is worth more to us than anything we're getting back, making this deal awful for us. Quinn's no throw in. And if we wanted to just dump Shaq, we could send him to Dallas for KVH.

Bad for both teams. Orlando doesn't want Shaq.

Well, you guys are getting Turkoglu back, and he's not half-bad, but I see your point.

I guess you didn't read the disclaimer.

Anyways:

1: How could you trade him for Keith Van Horn?
2: You aren't JUST dumping Shaq, sure ridding of his contract to help financially build around Wade is a positive; but you are adding assets. Hello, Hedo Turkoglu is having a monster season.
3: Yes Hedo. Cook is better than Hedo?? You just took yourself out of the thread basically.
4: Quinn IS a thro-in. Sorry,

Quinn is actually a solid player, as he is a good fit next to Wade. But of course, he's only valuable to the Heat, or other teams with bad records.

Cook is 20, and we wouldn't give him up for Hedo. I'm sorry, but we don't value Hedo that much. Ask any Heat fan. And Cook is NOT a throw in. If we're trading Shaq we're trading him to rebuild. Therefore, we have no need for Hedo.

Oh, and sorry about the disclaimer. But is this entire board not for fun?

Like I said, may as well not make a post in this thread because you have pretty much taken yourself out of it.

With that statement? Why?

Because you wouldn't find any Heat fan that disagrees with me (except maybe Big Dee Chi-Born).

EDIT: I'm not by any means saying that Cook is a better player than Hedo right now. But in the future he may be. If we're trading Shaq it's not about winning now. Therefore, trading Cook for Hedo is asinine.

In case you missed the discussions with Dallas fans, quite a few of them would do Shaq for KVH+Diop.

Absolutely not from the Magic standpoint, but it would be interesting.

this deal will be made when the NBA allows tanks and bulldozers to be used as props on the basketball court

id like to interject...isn't Shaq like 15 and 7? that really isn't has been. thats still better than 60 or 70 percent of the centers in the league.

Unfotunately, he makes a metric ton of money and is very much not living up to his contract.
