cash considerations

to Indiana for:

JO
Andre Owens
Rush or Graham

Nelson/Arroyo/Owens
JJ/Rush or Graham/Evans

JO/Augustine
Dwight/Battie/Foyle

we MLE for a 2/3 or 4

I don't know if I trust Jermaine's knees enough to give up Turk for him.

i know, i know...but i got this feeling...he's tough...he's got an outside shot, he blocks, he passes...if we can keep him out of the low block (Dwight) we should be well off...

Would Indy do it? They are playin halfway decent this season and have Granger / Dunleavy / Shawne who all play the 3.

well, that's the hang up...but Hedo can Switch on offense no problem, and he can guard 3 positions pretty well...the only other person we could trade in place would be Battie, and um...well haha

Indy's been running DUnleavy at SG & Williams at PF quite a bit this season, with that small lineup they use. The problem for them is that if they trade JO, who do all those perimeter guys revolve around? It would be like taking Dwight out of our rotation; all of a sudden, those swingmen become a lot less effective.

They were, but they also knew that he was coming back, so there was that light at the end of the tunnel. Without that hope, they're the Atlanta Hawks of the past few years.

how about Hedo + JJ + filler

for AK47?

Utah needs some outside scoring and Hedo would do well in their lineup IMO.

AK47 could switch to the PF spot much more effectively than Shard or Hedo and he'd give us defense, passing and a reasonable mid range jumper.

is it plausible?

*note: i love Hedo and JJ, but if they could land us someone like this... well... i can't see any reason to argue.

I wouldn't mind that deal, but with Utah having just acquired Kyle Korver, I don't think they'd be as interested in Redick. While Kirilenko's a bit of a flake, he brings a skill set to the table that would be pretty much impossible to replace. It would be an easier sell to the Jazz if Boozer & Okur needed guys to stretch the D, but they're capable of facing up & doing that themselves, so it's not as big a deal to have Brewelenko on the wings.

I don't think I'd want to trade for JO at this point, but that's the right package... we just need someone to offer it to.

The trade basically boils down to Turkoglu for O'neal. GM Smith must make that trade.

how about Udonis Haslem and Smush Parker? would you make a trade for them? we'd have to include a first...apparently Udonis is done in Miami, he's given up...Parker, although (Please Use More Appropriate Word), plays defense better than Nelson/Arroyo...

i'd like to get Davis too, but...

I'd like to get Haslem, but I don't ever see us dealing with Miami again thief. There appears to be a lot available at this deadline though, more than years past. Hopefully Otis is looking at making another deal, we need more talent.

I was looking at the minutes played last night in a somewhat strange rotation, and I found myself wondering if there was an auditioning of sorts going on. I know, I know, lame conspiracy theory, but hear me out:

Hedo Turkoglu
Keyon Dooling
JJ Redick

for

Andrei Kirilenko

Perhaps we could add Garrity and get Harpring back? Or maybe convince them to add Morris Almond?

This seems to fit for both teams.

Utah wants/needs a new back-up PG, could move Korver to SF, while having Hedo start there (a better true SF for them, AK47 is a better PF).

We could move Shard to SF, let him have the offensive focus alongside Dwight, get a defensive presence in the starting lineup, and possibly pick up either a defensive-minded, grind it out SF or a young SG with heaps of potential (which would perhaps allow us to use the MLE for a defensive PG?)

Lineups

Utah Jazz

Williams / Dooling / Hart
Brewer / Redick / Price (Almond?)
Hedo / Korver / (Hapring?)
Boozer / Millsap
Okur / Collins (Toss Fran their way?)

Orlando Magic

Jameer / Carlos
Mo / Bo(gans) / (Almond?)
TheShard / Mo (Harpring?)
Kirilenko / Augustine
Howard / Foyle

My ideal would be harpring, then use the MLE to convince Mr. Maggette to come join us.
