If the playoffs started today I would be a little scared to play the Lakers or the Blazers but the playoffs start in about 3 months from here. The questions to ask are, can both the Lakers and Blazers sustain their recent play? Can they get better or is this as good as they are going to get? I don't see this both teams playing at a high level as their are playing right now. It seems like the Lakers are geeting alot of things going their way. Let's also remember that last yr the Lakers had 13 losses at this perticular time and we saw what happen to them.

While the Suns have a lot of improvements to do in the next 3 months and I do see them getting better with time. I for sure don't want the Suns to peak now but in April thru May. At the end the top two teams in the West are going to be the Spurs and the Suns and for the East the Pistons and Celtics.

^ agreed 100% with everything you said

houston and utah arent in the top 8 at the moment and i think both can make it

portland are going great, i just dont see it lasting

remember the year we started 31 and 4? IIRC the sonics started 31 and 4 also, but they came back to earth eventually

Just how do you expect the Suns to improve?? I keep seeing references to this 'chemistry' lesson that will right the ship...but keep in mind the source....This is a little Spinjob coming from the mouth of Mike about an intangible ...and it has been coined into gospel, as the panacea to our mediocre play.

Will this 'Chemistry' improve our Rebounding woes?
Will 'Chemistry' make Amare, Nash, Barbo better defensive players?
Will it turn around Doris' game?
Will it create an adaptable coach who will flex his mighty system to deal with the different pace/style of the playoffs??
Will it produce a center to where Amare and Marion can play their natural positions?

Be careful how much stock you put into this cure all 'Chemistry'... I think our problems are as fundamental as ever.
What ? Me Worry ?

It seems obvious what we need, in this order:

*A vet backup point guard to actually PLAY point guard, not throw Barbosa out there and hope he develops a pass first mentality

*Another BIG body who can play the 4/5 and fight with Skinner for backup minutes

*Another 3 point shooter to spread the floor a la Jajo / House

We can get all 3 from the Bucks if we can get Charlie Bell and Charlie Villanueva...

On Bill Walton?

I think he's hilarious. You just don't get many (if any) commentators going articulate tongue-in-cheek and holding the facade. His Howard Cosell parody flies over the head of much of the audience...and that's unfortunate ...it's entertaining.

Basketball? He knows what he's talking about, but his appraisal of Portland is pushing though.

Bolded point: Why not just increase Skinner's mins? I really don't think we need to obtain somebody for this one. Don't get me wrong it would be nice to have another big body on the bench but for the amount we are willing to offer I doubt we get anyone better then Skinner and personally I don't see CV as a big body.

I also think your third point can be solved by someone like Banks. Lets not forget while the guy is inconsistent from outside he is still stroking a good %. Plus he plays better D then any other chucker we could bring in.

Agree about the 1st point but I'm not sure Charlie Bell would be the sort of player to do that. Like you've mentioned before Cassell would be great but I'm not sure what package would bring him here.
