What Happened to Jermaine O'Neal?

I think without the post game Jermaine is basically just a shot blocker.
He needs to start playing the post more, I think he really misses Reggie in that sense, he went from posting up and having Reggie outside to playing the way he is now.

I also think the whole team is not setup for his style

JO would be especially nice next to Duncan, and would benefit both guys well. Lakers are probably out of the picture now, for various reasons.

He's still good, but he has had a lot of injuries. His body is oretty beat up

hopefully o'neal stays with the pacers unless the right deal comes along.

He is just a dumb player who doesn't play to his strengths on offense... He shoots a pathetic percentage for a big man due to the fact that he doesn't put his ass in the post and keeps shooting jumpers as if he is a a good shooter. People used to blast Webber for always shooting jumpers and being soft for that, so what does that make O'neal? He is an elite defensive player don't get me wrong but his contribution on offense is downright horriable given that he has the skills to be a much better player.

shoulder is not strong enough after that injury 2 years ago.

the difference is Webber was not a very good post player because he doesn't have a great footworks and used to rely on his athletics ability to score in the post, on the other hand O'neal has a great footwork and spin moves in the post but hes just not healthy enough to play in the post this is why hes chocking jumpers.

Yeah... that great info but he was shooting a pathetic percentage (.43%) before with a loaded 62 win Pacer team before he got hurt. The injury card doesn't work with O'neal.

Jermaine was an absolute monster out there tonight in the paint. I'm still sticking to my theory that Jermaine is taking it easy this season, "Vince Carter-style" because he is unhappy with his situation in Indiana and would like to play elsewhere for a contender. I really think there are plenty of places where he can step right in and be a star player again.

Agreed..Part of me thinks JO is still wants out. Sometimes he plays like he does not want to be there anymore. He's really unhappy and it's totally affecting his play.

Larry Bird has turned the team into a joke via horrible trades and FA signings. The damn Pacer management just sucks like hell for putting losers around Jermaine. I mean come on!! Troy Murphy? Travis Diener? Jamaal Tinsley? Kareem Rush? David Harrison? What a joke! I think they should trade him!
