Ralph Lawler & Mike Smith

I love these guys, probably the best commentating duo among local affiliate teams. You have the straight, play-by-play man with the awesome catchphrase in Ralph and his tag team partner providing irreverent color.

PS: I like that Mike actually called Dirk "soft" for quite possibly the lamest foul I have ever seen (scratching the air in front of Thomas and then sidestepping)

Yeah I remember hearing that too, and that was the biggest home town call ive ever seen, but apparently Tim Thomas acknowledged that, so he shot the ball with 8 seconds left to give us a fair shot.

I am at a loss dear posters. I do not recall any of their fine work. Channels and teams they call?

Los Angeles Clippers. If you have NBA TV, you've probably heard about them already.

Ralph's the guy that says "oh me, oh my" and "BINGO!" while Mike's the one who provides a lot of "I can't believe he said that!" moments like admitting that he doesn't see what people like about Stromile ("It says here on my scouting report 'a whole bag of nothing'!) and sarcastically whining about Dallas not dumping the ball to their "MVP" (P-Pod) during a Summer League game.

Thanks. I thought Matt Pinto, Former mavs radio and TV play by play guy, was in their broadcast somewhere.

Let me see if I can do this justice;

2 weeks ago, Suns at paperClips, Suns get off to an 8-0 lead with Amare scoring all the points. one more time down the court and Amare scores again ---

Lawler: "There's another one from the only man in the building to score tonight..(3 sec pause)... but that guy in the upper deck looks like he has an excellent chance later." Fell off my couch laughing.

Lawler is worth 2 or 3 quips a game that will make me laugh out loud, he is awesome.

Might be worth a tune in, but I have enough trouble trying to cathc mavs games much less clisp games. maybe when they play each other.

Return to Dallas Mavericks
