Hate to come across as a homer, but I think my stats back me up in being one of the first to say Carmelo Anthony. He leads the league in career game-winning shots and has the highest percentage of making those shots. Hes as clutch as they come... at least in the regular season. But look at his NCAA dominance as a sign that he will eventually do well in the playoffs.

Yep, behind Kobe, I don't see how anyone could not pick Carmelo in the clutch.

There's not a place that I know of that breaks down those stats for just the 4ht quarter, but there is a place (82games.com) that tracks them in the last 5 minutes and overtime of games where neither team is leading by more than 5 points. From that you can get eFG%, FT%, points per 48 minutes, assists per 48 minutes, assist/bad pass ratio, team net points per 48 minutes (i.e. how many points that player helps their team outscore their opponent by in clutch situations).

Here's a table with those stats for the 5 players listed for most 4th quarter points (plus Turkoglu, who was apparently overlooked in the 4th quarter scoring stat), with the leader in each category numbers bolded, listed in order of team net points per 48 minutes (i.e. how effective they are in helping the team outscore the other team with the game on the line). The columns

eFG%, FT%, points per 48, assists per 48, assist/bad pass, team net points per 48.

LeBron: .539, .825, 62.8, 8.2, 17.0, 32.8
Davis: .650, .800, 39.5, 11.2. 4.3, 27.0

So your telling me now that Baron is the second best clutch player after Lebron.

I knew that, and the stats back it up.

Funny thing is , everyone criticizes BD for his FG%, but check it out in the 4th where it matters.

the 4th doesn't always matter when Baron is shooting 25% for the rest of the game..
