The case for a 50 win season.

Post#1 » by hoophoophooray » Sun Jan 13, 2008 10:12 pm

Or an improvement on last year.

Currently 20-17.

Of games Remaining...

24 against the 13 teams with losing records(including 10 against the sad sack 4). Raptors are currently 13-2 on the year against this group. If we continue at that pace...AN ADDITIONAL 21 WINS against this group.

8 against the top 8 teams(Bos,Det,Dal,Phx,LAL,SA,Port,NO). Raptors are currently 4-8 vs this group...and at that pace AN ADDITIONAL 3 WINS.

13 against the next 8 teams(Orl,Wash,Cleve,NJ,Den,GS,Ut,Hous). We have played this group poorly to date(2-8) but if we win close to half our remaining games against this group we get AN ADDITIONAL 6 WINS.

ADD THEM ALL UP AND YOU GET 50!!!

The easy part of our schedule is ahead of us - I remain the (perhaps hopeless) optimist.

I don't disagree with you but I was getting tired of the preponderance of negative posts on this board.

If we didnt have the worst starting C in the entire league I might agree with you. This team will be luck to repeat last year's win total, especially with TJ out another month+

Or maybe if we had a franchise player who actually had some **** balls?

Right.

If only we had a guy named Aldridge/Gay/Roy instead of a bust named Bargs. The sad thing is the Raptors are going to draft another washed up Euro, when they are clearly blind to not go scout some real talent in NCAA>

Bosh just carried his team through two overtimes, and you're saying that he lacks balls? In the 4th quarter and OT, he shot 7-10 and scored 21 points. Yeah, that's a shrinking violet.

Yup. Blind. Babcock had it right all along...right? Let BC do what BC does.

Somewhatdamaged/Nolimitz only has two posts--the support Bargs post and its corolloary bash Bosh post (which, strangely, in his mind is another way of supporting Bargs). It's obviously been difficult for the poor guy to get over just how wrong he was on Bargs, Bosh and the future of the team. I kind of pity the lil' fella to be honest with you

there both on the same page. BC doesnt know anything. He is only better than Babcock because everything was built for him (Bosh Calderon Ukic) etc. The only thing BC cares about is creating some crap called "Culture" and build a team full of Euros

I don't care about a 50 win season. As long as the Raptors get far in the playoffs, I'll be happy.

50 wins is not important. It is just a number. Ask Dallas who had 65+ wins last years and they were out just like the Raps in the first round. Only they were the 1 seed losing to the 8 seed.

I love how if we lost today, everyone would've been saying we'll be lucky to win 40, yet because we won, we're potentially a 50 win team.

Not everybody. I expected about 50 wins at the start of the year. I also expected(or maybe hoped) the team would be a little healthier than they have been. I had also hoped they would have a couple of more wins by now. I am still not prepared to give up on 50 wins(first round bye). Even if they lose (as many expect) to Detroit on Tuesday.

Does one other person think the Raptors have a chance at 50? If so I have not seen it.

I'm just tired of all the negativity on this board. In life negativity is for losers. Be one if you want to be.

Yes, let's pick one game over the course of his 4.5 year career.

Well, knowing you've been following me as closely as you have, you'd know better than to say this.

Seriously, get off my dick dude.
