Orlando needs some defensive help desperately. Houston needs someone capable of playing the 3 who won't disappear during games.
Battier and the expiring Kirk Snyder for Hedo. A 2nd round pick can be thrown in if needed by Houston.
Am I way off?

Battier is the one who D's up on Kobe, Redd, and the other great 2s in the League for Houston. The original premise was offense for defense. On offense, playing 2 or 3 isn't as big of a deal as defensively, and Battier is more than capable on the defensive end.

The Magic should not make that trade.
Turk is averaging 19 ppg, while Barrier averages eight, and also has better rebounding and assist totals than Battier. With a low-scoring backcourt, the Magic can't afford this kind of an offensive drop-off no matter how good Battier's defense might be.
I like Battier but I'm beginning to believe that his contributions are somewhat overrated.
