Something I noticed Bosh has gone away from...
Well I was wondering, and thinking how Bosh has evolved, and I started thinking. Why has Bosh gone away from the bank shot? He use to be money with that shot. I remember 2 years ago he would catch it, and shoot it off glass.
Now the only time Bosh uses glass is when he take that running lay up, and it's pretty effective.
Not complaining, because this Bosh has been deadly ever since the road strip. He brought his stats back to elite company.
I would like Bosh to use that bank shot though. He did shoot 50+% when he used that shot. He was money.
Funny how Bosh's game has gone from being Tim Duncan(quiet demeanor, pretty consistent wont blow up for 40 point games, the bank shot), to Garnett like(Vocal, the celebrations, money mid range shot, really aggressive). Young Bosh would hardly celebrate, but you see Bosh cheering on for himself, and his team ALOT more.

Astute post. Have been thinking the same myself the past few games. Last year he started using it a lot. This year Nada. It could be the emphasis on getting to the rim and/or getting foul shots. . The bank shot is usually used on the way to the basket(Drive, stop & pop).
It also could be why his shooting average is down from last year.

why should he shoot when we got better shooters. Just take that damn thing to the rack.
I agree Bosh is such a special player when he decides to take it to the rack. His aggressiveness has made Bosh become a better player, and we really need it. No one else on this team really drives it.
I'm not complaning though.
I think Bosh needs to notice when he's getting to the line, his jumpshot becomes much better too. He's been real good at getting the continuation too this year.

ya what happened to that? didnt he try to add it to his game last year(not that i want him anywhere near the 3pt line)
Since he's pretty much our only interior scorer, we don't want or need Bosh to start stepping him and jack up 3's. It's not his strength and we've got a roster full of players that can handle that.

Bosh wouldn't be half the player he is now, if defenses didn't fear his jump shot.
Indeed. His jump shot is what keeps defenses honest.

Remember his rookie year? He used to be all about the quick step into the lane followed by a step back jumper. I haven't seen that move in a long time.
Looks like Bosh is continuing to evolve his game. That's good news for us Raps fans-you certainly don't want your franchise player to stagnate and turn into a liability (see Shareef Abdur-Rahim).

Remember when we used to complain about Bosh being mechanical and his butter fingers? He truely has grown into a great player and is just so much fun to watch because his game is so smooth and unique for a seven footer.
That shimmy-shake that Bosh has when he catches the ball near the bucket is absolutely killer.
I think we will continue to see Bosh develop his post game and become even more crafty with his fakes inside the lane .
There is no reason why Bosh cannot average 25-30 ppg for a few seasons if he can find the touch on his jumper again.

I noticed that alot of posts are barking about Bosh's jumpshot. I've been watching the games and bosh is money on his jumpshot lately-- because he's been aggressive!
When he gets to the line, his jumper is on! Bosh is on fire cause he's healthy. Haven't seen that in a long time. Go Bosh!

His effectiveness driving to the basket is somewhat predicated on his outside shot. CB4's effectiveness is looking for both based on how the defense is set-up in the halfcourt game.
CB4 is most effective when he keeps the defense off balance and "guessing" to what he is going to do. Yes, he should take it to the rack as often as possible but to get the better spacing he should take outside shots when he has a clean look. He does have a very good 18-20 foot shot!!
His inside outside game is what makes him one of only a few big men that can do both so well!!
