They are gonna eat crow sooner or later.
Don't bother with these morons. They need a different whipping boy every week. They'll find something wrong with every single player on the Raptor team sooner or later. Just pathetic

I never thought that Parker's shooting went anywhere. All shooters are pretty streaky and AP is no exception.
That said, he's not the same defensive player he was last season. He's having a lot more trouble keeping quick players in front of him.

You guys are trying to make a point by reviving this thread but your position is almost as bad as the people who originally posted in here (including myself)... AP is supposed to be Mr. Consistent, but he's been the opposite this season... jumping on the bandwagon after a few good games is the same thing as jumping off after a few bad ones..
He tends to go through a bunch of games where he disappears, then a couple of good ones.. nothing has changed, except our schedule became much easier (could this be a coincidence??)...Look at our last 4 opponents and how AP played:
vs Portland- 25 pts 6 ast
vs NYK- 13 pts 8 reb
vs PHI- 22 pts
vs Cle- 20 pts 9 reb 4ast 2stl
Now lets look at the 5 games before that:
vs DET- 7pts
@NOH- 19pts 5 ast
@HOU- 6pts
@SAS- 3pts
@PHO- 2pts
Except for the New Orleans game this was a terrible streak, where people were hopping off the bandwagon like crazy, and where this thread began...
The two games before that:
@SEA- 14pts
@POR- 16pts
The four games before that:
@LAC- 0pts
vs BOS 6pts
@IND- 3pts
vs DAL- 6pts
And its been like this since the start of the season... AP is supposed to be a solid vet, not a rookie, plus he's hailed as our 'glue guy' and consistent stabilizing presence, yet he's been as up and down as any Raptor this season... I'm just saying... Its funny how short term people's memories seem to be here.. few bad games- he sucks, he's done (which I admit I was sucked into), then a couple of good games- look at the idiots who said he's done, etc... then repeat the cycle again... look at the trend over the season rather than a cluster of performances..

Yep, and that's still a concern. It's terrific that he has stepped up his shooting of late, but there's no comparison between his defense now and last year. I also worry about what will happen if he goes cold at the wrong time...couple nice dunks and lay-ups tonight, but he has become almost exclusively a perimeter player.
Oddly, almost an exact stylistic clone of Mo Pete in his final two years, without the trick shots.

**** your asterisk.

They are similar. Although I do like Parker better shooting off the dribble and I thought Mo was better running the floor.
I thought that it was pretty obvious that Delfino did a much better job on Roy than Parker did. He was getting around Parker pretty easily. Even <gasp> Jose did a better job on Roy. He did an excellent job of denying the ball and made him primarily a jump shooter when he did catch it.

That cycle is certainly true, and AP was certainly terrible at the start of the season.
Here's a theory about him: Part of what makes him a good glue guy is consistently making the right play. Since Parker is not a creator on offense, he can only react to what the defense gives him. So, the defense either sticks to him and turns him into a passer, or leaves him and lets him shoot. You would thus expect him to have statistically good games and some statistically poor games
What would worry me about him is poor decision making with the ball or poor defense. Early in the season, those were both missing and he was taking a lot of criticism. His defense is must better now and his decision making is nearly flawless. I'm happy to chalk it up as a poor start, but on the whole, AP has been solid this season.

I'll give AP props, he's playing way better lately, mostly on offence.
He's pretty inconsistant from game to game though still and his defence has taken a step back.
I said it before though, he's a solid role player who's asked to do more than he's capable at times.
But on the whole, nice player to have on this team.
