Like Atlanta...Like the Clippers years ago....like chicago just a few years back...like Minnesota now...the track records not good through cap space alone...trades and drafting are the more surer form of rebuilding.

Chicago was helped by those expirings, and were considered a title contender coming into this season. The jury is still out on Minny, but they are in better shape now than they were a year ago. The other 2 franchises were inemptly run and did not make good use of that cap space.

But how about Portland, who decided to rebuild the right way and look where they are now.

what about Portland? They HAVE done it the right way...through shrewd drafting and brilliant maneuvers. What free agent have they signed with their cap space? Joel Pryzbilla? Who's there own and worst contract currently. Free agency is just another form of overpaying for somebody else's used goods.

I'm not saying cap space isn't good, IT IS...but you're trying to tell me that I should liquidate the talented vets on my team for basically PURE expirings. That doesn't fly. If it's A PART of the deal, absofruitly. But, in and of itself capspace does NOTHING when talking about trade value of QUALITY vets.
