If Jose's name wasn't mentioned, I might give this some thought. But really......no, Kidd is one of the handful of guys who are not overrated.

Not overrated, just on his way down in his career. Probably dissapointed in his team this year and so not playing as hard, can still turn it on in the playoffs.

Kudos to some of the old great players of the late 90s and early 21st century, but some of these players need to be in retirement homes and soon. Jkidd as a player you know is not going to win anything unless he goes to a team like the spurs, the nets have been playing sub .500 ball for the past three years. And they do nothing in the playoffs. Shaq is on the decline. This is the Pistons last year to compete with those old guys they have in Detroit. They will have a similar breakdown as what we are seeing in Miami, IMO. It could happen for them as early as next season.

My homer pick for the ASG is of course Jose Calderon, he's better on a per 40 minute basis than Chauncey Billups. They are about neck and neck, actually. But he is only 26 and will inevitably pass Chauncey, because his name last night should have been CALDERONIONS. Calderon to the allstar game...BABY!

I have said it before. Calderon is the 2nd best PG in the East this season.

Kidd has a lot of triple doubles, but he is also shooting around 37% from the field. His turnovers are way up as well.

There is no shame in showing down, he's a great player at the end of his career.

I think the more telling question would be... Is Andrew Bynum overrated? If the answer is yes, ship his ass out out town. If no, ship his ass out of town too. This is Jason Kidd we're talking about.

Sometimes I tell myself that Kidd is overrated.... then I think back to last year's playoffs where he was outstanding against us. He is a great player/

The OP is certainly corect in his point about rebounding however... Kidd's rebounding numbers are seriously bloated by the team system, but he is still a fantastic rebounding PG.

Ignoring their relative salaries and age differences, Bynum is better than Jason Kidd right now. He's turned into a monster at both end and is the primary reason the Lakers have gone from playoff pretender to one of the top teams in the league this season.

Kupchak deserves a ton of credit for not caving into both New Jersey and Kobe's wishes on this one.
