big men are hard to officiate. if they call everything a foul, shaq would get 100 fts a game and his opponent would foul out on 6 straight possessions.

it is what it is. the team in general doesn't get calls, including tmac.

we can't lose games b/c of the officials. we should learn that from the mavericks playoff series (where the officiating was HORRIBLE). just got to take care of business ourselves and don't put ourselves to be so vulnerable in such situations.

i couldnot help but to imagine if your suggestion is adopted... at the rate they are making bad calls, the referees are all going to be "ball-less" or NBA will have to hire woman as referees...

See the thing is there they let Shaq hook people, elbow people, and drop his shoulder and bull through people without calling him for offensive foul. If Yao goes in aggressively like that the defenders know all they have to do is flop and they will get the call. We saw that in the first quarter when Chandler blatantly flopped and got the call.

Ya, I don't know where this, "Oh, it's the same thing Shaq has had to put up with" garbage came from. I've watched Shaq his whole career, and dude got away with MURDER on both ends of the floor - rarely called for fouls on D, and allowed to lower the shoulder and plow thru people on O. There's zero comparison between the way Shaq has been treated by the refs and how Yao is currenty treated - ZERO. Yao just gets plain SHAFTED!!!

shaq isn't treated that way anymore. he seems to always foul out now.

the game has changed, and not to the benefit of big men, but more to the benefit of the guards and the offensive player. you just have to get used to it now.

but at the same time, shaq was hit so many times, and it wasn't called either, - even back in college his coach was complaining about it. people assumed that it didn't hurt him - but you can see how his body turned out.

Hi all you Rockets fans,

I was watching the game and I felt sorry for you guys. The Rockets should have won the game, and unfortunately it was again decided by the referee.

In the final minute or two, Tyson Chandler had gotten away with murder, twice. On 2 of Yao's "turnovers", replay show that Chandler actually committed the shooting fouls. Yao's arm was hit, twice. Yao should have gotten the the charity stripe 4 times.

Poor Yao

this concern me for quite some time
the action on the court is too fast for the referee (some old one) to see
how can 3 referees officiate all 10 players on the court?
i heard some said if they didn't actually see the play happened
if the ball go up in the air it's shooting foul
if the ball go down it's a clean slap

now you know why there are so many no call on Yao
while "you know who" just throw it up and it's 2 shots foul when no one touched him

instead of looking for Yao to go one-on-one in the last 2 min
i felt like there were 2 plays Scola coulda take the ball to the basket

i absolutely hate the last play when Adelman took out Scola and put Yao on West
he can take the 20 seconds timeout and take Yao out after the free throws (not sure if rule allow)
i knew they are going to run the pick and roll and switch to Yao guarding Paul
that's the exact same play that we lost to them last season

Your 7-6 center should never be the one taking a 3pt shot to tie a game at the buzzer. Yao matched Tyson Chandler perfectly throughout the game. Once Chandler fouled out David West might as well have been Carlos Boozer in last years playoffs. Yao can't guard those guys -- period.

I mean, Yao for 3? WTF?!

I bet Yao can hit that three better than Battier....
