The word "ghetto" is much too loose of a term.

Tell me why were they considered "ghetto?" Because they played like men who didn't take anything for granted and backed up their pride with strong play and intimidation through a hard earned reputation?

I'm sure if Oak and Willis read this post, they would view the original poster as being ignorant.

Tell me, is Garbo "ghetto" or does he play with toughness?

How was that team ghetto?

The way they were constructed, they were more like a homeless man's Jordan-era Chicago Bulls.

It's not like they were the Jailblazers or anything.

I believe the OP means more black players on that team. :nonono:

If only Oakley and AD were like 10 years younger back in 2001

I'm a big Parker fan, but Parker did nothing to slow Vince down in the playoffs last year, and Vince of the '01 playoffs was even better than last year's VC. How do you figure Vince "would've had issues with Parker"?

The '01 team was easily better than this year's or last year's Raptors team. We may have won as many games in the regular season last year, but in '01 you had the feeling they could beat anyone on any given night. They also had a guy who could take over and dominate a close game in the late 4th quarter.

Bosh would abuse everybody, and our pgs would've had it tough with alvin. Vince would've had issues with parker and delfino. My guess is the old team would've won in 7 because of experience, but I have my doubts.

I'm becoming one of the bigger Bosh fans lately, but I'm not so sure he would be very effective against AD and Oak, certainly not dominant. You thought him handling Sideshow Bob, Jason Collins and Miki Moore was bad last year? AD and Oak would bat him around into many 5-15 shooting games.

That team would have destroyed our current team with Ford and Garbo injured and Bargs inconsistent... VC was arguably at the top of his game and we had solid vets around him... That team would have beat Detroit or Cleveland last year and gone to the finals... It wasn't a one man show, we had solid players around VC, unlike the one-man show in Cleveland..

If our current team has everybody healthy then it would be close, but I still give the nod to the '01 team...

Smitch probably would still try to go small against that team.

I remember Glen wanted Bosh and TJ Ford. LJ, Carmelo, Darko were impossible to get. I don't know where the Darko thing surfaced from, he only had his eyes on TJ and Chris.

Glad we have both. He was a good GM and I really liked him but the injuries were the main reason for the unsuccessful years.
