Blazers announcer said T.J. Ford would return
Next week during yesterday's broadcast. Can anyone confirm the legitimacy of this?

After Saturday's game in Philly, we do have three days off, so he could get in some practices with the team. Not saying I have an info, but if he is getting into physical shape with Lucas, he could get into game shape with a couple of practices, then come in off the bench for a time.

Healthy Ford ends Toronto search for point guard
Contra Costa Times
Article Launched: 01/13/2008 02:57:49 AM PST
It's looking as if Toronto Raptors point guard T.J. Ford will return this season, according to the Toronto Star. On Wednesday, Ford was cleared to resume workouts by a spine specialist at the Cleveland Clinic, the third specialist he's seen since sustaining a stinger Dec. 11 in Atlanta after hitting his head on the court when Hawks rookie Al Horford knocked him to the floor. Ford will work out in Houston with former NBA coach John Lucas, who helped Ford rehab from back and neck surgery in 2004.
Ford's expected return may not end speculation that Toronto general manager Bryan Colangelo is on the hunt for another point guard. In Ford's absence, point guard Jose Calderon is seeing a lot of minutes, having played at least 40 minutes four consecutive games."

Those comments aren't true at all.
Within ten minutes, the colour guy also called Toronto a dangerous offensive rebounding team (very untrue) and a poor defensive rebounding team (surprisingly, by the numbers that's also untrue). One of the Portland board members likened him to your drunken, half-senile uncle. I'm not sure how great a source he is.

**** your asterisk.

our team sucess works on having two good PG. WE need TJ FORD back ASAP , as Calderon is good for getting spark and life into the bench (so guys like Dixon, Delfino, Graham, Baston, Bargs, or anyone that plays with him in that line can do better than they normally would). As a side note, I also want to see Garbo get waived or something. He is just a trainwreck.

I'm not sure what importance one random Portland fan's comments have on reality.
You need to put the announcers comments in to context, he could have been speaking about a particular unit on the floor, such as when Rasho was in (relative to rebounding).

I watched and listened to the entire broadcast, neither Portland announcer said Bosh was a poor FT shooter. I would have remembered that.
I don't recall any comments regarding the passing lanes and Calderon.

Near the end of regulation, he stated that they should foul Bosh before he could pass it off...not explicitly calling him a bad free throw shooter, but definitely suggesting that it would be better to put him on the line than one of the guards. Considering that one of those guards was Anthony Parker, I respectfully disagree with him assertion.

Somebody fouled Bosh, and they definitely said something like "That's ok, because Bosh is known to miss free throws," later in the game Calderon was fouled and they said "You don't want to do that, because Calderon is an excellent free throw shooter." Even though Bosh is shooting an excellent 85% from the line, whereas Calderon is shooting marginally better at an elite-level 90%.

TJ will be a shadow of himself. A deer into headlights. Garbo coming back will have a huge impact on the defensive side of the game.
