That thing Jack was doing pissed me off as a Blazer fan as well. After 2006 the refs seemed to clean up the traveling calls (on everyone but Dwayne Wade) and of the three times Jack obviously traveled, he was only called on it once.

I'm not sure where you're going with this palming thing though, many of the leagues top ball handlers do it.

PS- If we could only have Calderon and Oden on our team we'd have a super dynasty. I love that guy!

Can we just appreciate the fact that we saw a rising star at his best? I don't care that we could have had him,if we had drafted Gay, I would have been in love with our pick but still in admiration over the way Roy played yesterday.

Us being Raps fans does not change the fact that we are NBA fans and can appreciate other people too...

BUT - If I could go back to the 2006 draft, I'd take Brandon Roy first overall. He's really really good.

(If his already known to be injured knee results in his becoming an injury prone player in 2-3 years, I take back my desire to have him over Bargnani.)

You know that Oden was the guy we should have gotten if not for David Stern's convenient "screw the raptors" rule change for high schoolers, right? :wink:

I thought he was going to play a year in college either way.

Regardless, I just hope he's healthy enough to play consistent minutes someday. Really don't know if he'll be that good.

I know he would be if we had a guy like Calderon though!

Do you think these reports of looking for another PG are in part put out by your management to push Jose? Because he is the type who likely will respond positively to such pressure?

Regardless, it drives me crazy that they call him on it when I see SO many players make the same move. I guess if they're not 7', it makes the move more likely, and because of Bargs' size and occasionally awkward moves to the hoop, the refs just see a travel.

Maybe, he's just too quick for the refs. :lol:

Every player always says they want to go or stay in college, but usually the pressure of agents and family is too great for a high school phenom.

As for Calderon, be logical. Our 'official' starter, TJ Ford, looks to have an injury prone career at best. We need an adequate backup for CALDERON (likely our REAL starter for most of the future) in the worst way, so there isn't anything psychologically going on with our looking for another PG. We really DO need a backup!

Are you joking? Tell me this is sarcasm. Chuck has been lambasted for being a homer. To criticise his admiration for a good player (no matter what team he plays for actually) seems to be more than a little off base.

BTW Roy is the real deal both on the court and off. He is a solid guy in the dressing room, it seems, and there is lot to admire about that player.

speaking of palming, deron williams is another one that pisses me off with his palming. i swear some of players wouldn't be as effective if they didn't carry the ball.

Oden did say that and never wavered from it.

In another thread I said I would research my belief that soccer was a very popular sport in Canada. This is what I found on Wiki:

Which means...nothing. Just about anyone can sign up to play soccer, it costs next to nothing. Most parents put even their non-athletic kids in soccer because its a sport they dont mind because they can just hide in a corner, or kick the ball away from themselves. Registration in soccer does not equal popularity. It's the most played sport in the world because it's the cheaper sport in the world.

As for this thread, not surprised how SS spun it :roll:

I like Roy, would love him on this team. However I think he may be in the Dywane Wade/early VC mode, where he'll be dodging oncourt related injuries all his career. I hope I'm wrong.
