He has physical talent, but as a basketball player is just plain insignificant. The Magic already have 6 of those on the roster right now.
Still, a stupid draft pick.
^What he said.
Plus, to whoever said Darko 2.0. If we ever do see Fran in a Magic uniform we'll be wishing it was Darko, Fran is nowhere near Darko.
It's funny how the article ended saying that the chances of Fran coming over were looking bleak and people here read the article then posted here saying it had given them hope.

Hedo (7M)
2008 1st round pick
Rights to Franny
for
Bargs (4.5M)
Joey Graham (1.5M)
Because the Magic don't have enough power forwards that aren't built to bang with the Ben Wallaces and Udonis Haslems of the world? If they are going to trade for another forward, he needs to be a power guy and rebounder.

I wonder if they Toronto is committed to developing him since he was their number one pick, even though he should have been a 5th to 8th pick.
Bargs, another NO DEFENSE Mofo, so you guys will keep complaining about what a bad defensive team the Magic is, GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Regardless if he ever comes over, it's doubtful that he's the "answer" that we need. He's a guy that comes off the bench. Granted, I've never seen him play an entire game, but if he were good enough to play over here, even in a backup role, he'd be here.
If he comes, great. If not, oh well.

He def does not fit well in Europe. They got a a different style of play and his skills dont translate well there. His skills would be better suited in the NBA.
If Vasquez is defensive minded as he says. He would been better off hitting up a South American team. They are known for their defensive minded techiques and produced players that are now in the NBA like Ginobili,Varajao, Nene, and Barbosa.

Considering our PF issues, I'd still give him a shot, assuming that he gets a new US agent, or if we could bypass his current one somehow.

Well im from Spain so what i can say....
He has all the athletic tools to suceed, but ..... his IQ is similar to Bargnani, you know, ZERO IQ.
I agree his game would translate better in the NBA than in Europe ( he collapses with slow tempo styles.)
Anyway knowing that dude is a bit silly i would not think a lot on bringing him here.
His agent ( agent earned x3 more money saying Fran to stay 3 years more in Europe than recommend him to go NBA) and his awful wife made him choose stay in Europe benching 3 years...
His reputation in Spain is not very good at the moment.

That's seems pretty evident.
Fran Vazquez = Basketball tool.
lol
Basketball is driven by three principles:
1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

This might be a reason for Vazquez to opt out this off season. As such, the Magic have their depth at PF in Battie/Foyle/Vazquez, and can focus other efforts on a new SG.
And i am sure his european team, MMT Barcelona, wants to get rid of him, since he is one of the players earning highest salary ( around 1.7 million dollars per season) and he plays only 13MPG http://www.acb.com/jugador.php?id=A9S
