everyone is so caught up on kwame's offense which isn't as bad as people post about on these boards..and they are 4getting about his positives and that he helps Lakers win games. He plays well with the first unit and has done so the last two years... this year he hasn't played as well or at least compared to Bynum.

He'll guide the team to the playoffs and hopefully Bynum will be back by then.

don't listen to star24 or whatever. He does not back up his statements with any facts or numbers.
Kwame Brown is servicable, get over it.

I think we'll be fine once Kwame gets his legs back and gets back into the flow of things. He'll need to play heavy minutes, so it'll be important that he stays healthy until Bynum comes back.

Regarding his offense, I don't think we need it quite as much. We tend to give up less points when Kwame is on the floor, so if anything, we just need to ensure that we stay completely focused on the defensive end. Keep in mind that we were blowing teams out, so losing about 5-6 PPG from Bynum should not impact us THAT much.

What's important here is not so much Kwame turning into Bynum on the offensive, rather Odom's ability to step up and be our 2nd option. With the way he has been playing since December, I think he's up for the challenge, at least temporarily.

star24: Seriously, you need to think about the Lakers situation before you go demanding that we trade the ONLY center that we currently have available. It would be a very dumb move on the Lakers part to trade him and not receive another capable center in return. Replacing Kwame's defense is not as easy as it sounds, and what you're suggesting is to trade him just for the sake of making a trade because you can't stand the guy. Everyone here knows what his deficiencies are, but you are one of the few who can't seem to understand how he benefits the team. Do you seriously think that Mihm or Turiaf would be more effective playing center? I hope you don't...

The next 8 weeks in my opinion will depend on one man and one man only. KOBE.

Kobe must lead by example and he must regain the abilty to dominate games for periods at a time. His shot has been off this season and I really hope it re-emerges.

If KOBE can carry this team on his back for the next 8 weeks, it will solidify him as the MVP of this season and even more important to me, as a guy who bleeds purple and gold and carried his team when they needed him most. If kobe begins playing with his head down, depressed that the lakers are losing and starts making excuses, we will be back at square one.

Now is not the time to be depressed about the unfortunate events. BYNUM is injured.

Other people must step up as well obviously but Kobe must take his game to another level starting NOW.

Get Well soon A.B

Chris Webber would be a really nice fit for the Lakers. I know so far he is not the player he used to be but anyway he is still a good big man.

I would take him inmediately.

I think his agent is over exaggerating, for more leverage on contract negotiations. If the team is doing well w/o him I will bet my left leg he will be back before 8 weeks.

Hi, I am new here. How about kwame + vlad + filler for Ben Wallace? If Kobe and Bynum becomes the next 1-2 punch, Big Ben would certainly be a great compliment to them whether he is starting or not. Before Bynums injury, we were 10 of the last 11 without Vlad and Kwame so imagine if we brought in another defensive presence in the mix without factoring in the fact that we still need cap space to re-sign players. You can argue that we need spacing and such from Vlad, but I can still argue that we were 10 of the last 11 without him. What do you guys think?

C-Webb would be a GREAT fit for our squad and I would take him in a minute but I have to believe he is going back to Detroit as he just bought another PAD there...

jesus!!! Kwame for Ben Wallace.

Kwame is already Ben Wallace, there isn't much Ben can bring that Kwame already does not bring.

Kwame will never score like Bynum, but he will keep us afloat. the focus now should be on Odom to step up like somebody else already suggested.

Kwames presense will be felt in the defensive end, but will be ignored by the likes of some posters here, it is in their DNA. it is not the end of the world, in fact the Bynum injury will give us the depth that we lack come playoff time.

sure it will take him a few games to get up to speed, but we will be fine.

Oh boy.

For all the good Kwame does on the defensive end, he is an absolute disaster on the offensive end. Hands of stone. The amount of easy baskets he will somehow screw up will drive all Lakers fans to the edge

Say Hello to the 45-point-averaging-Kobe-Bryant for the next two months.
