Trade to get Bibby here...

Post#1 » by RevMan26 » Mon Jan 14, 2008 7:40 am

Larry Hughes ($12,000,084)
Eric Snow ($6,703,125)
Drew Gooden ($6,453,416)
Sasha Pavlovic ($4,250,000)
2008 1st Round Pick

for

Mike Bibby ($13,500,000)
Kenny Thomas ($7,875,000)
Shareef Abdur-Rahim ($5,800,000)
John Salmons ($4,752,000)

Cavaliers
C: Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Anderson Varejao
PF: Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Kenny Thomas, Cedric Simmons
SF: LeBron James, Ira Newble
SG: John Salmons, Devin Brown, Damon Jones
PG: Mike Bibby, Daniel Gibson
IR: Shannon Brown, Dwayne Jones, Donyell Marshall

Kings
C: Brad Miller, Spencer Hawes
PF: Drew Gooden, Mikki Moore, Justin Williams
SF: Ron Artest, Sasha Pavlovic
SG: Kevin Martin, Larry Hughes, Quincy Douby
PG: Beno Udrih, Eric Snow
IR: Francisco Garcia, Dahntay Jones

Is this fair for both sides?!? In my opinion it is. What do you think?

Drew Gooden/Eric Snow = Mike Bibby
Larry Hughes = Shareef Abdur-Rahim/Kenny Thomas
Sasha Pavlovic/2008 1st Round Pick = John Salmons

i think if you take out the first rounder then its fair to me because we are taking back two bad contracts for one.

This trade would NEVER happen. Ferry isn't taking on both SAR and KT's contracts and giving up a #1 pick. This deal is horrible. :nonono:

Ferry really doesn't want to take on any bad contracts, but since he's giving up one I'm sure he'd have a bit more flexibility. However, I still don't think he wants the contract to go longer than Hughes already is. Maybe a buyout makes it more plausible. But no way that the Cavs give up a first.

Take Salmons out, take Hughes out, I don't see any reason to give up the two best players in the deal(Bibby AND Salmons).

Pavlovic can stay in Cleveland for all I care, he does nothing the Kings don't already have, but better(like Salmons, Garcia, Martin etc).

SAR is out for the season, leaving us with a post rotation of:

PF: Varejao/KT
C: Z/Simmons/Jones

That's the problem with Gooden-for-Bibby. I'm all for trading for Bibby, but if it costs us our starting PF, it might not be worth it.

I'm tired of Bibby. If we can't get him for cheap (which Petrie won't do) move on. This rumor has dragged on for years now

I do not want Bibby's contract until we get rid of Mr. Glass. I can handle getting rid of Gooden as long as we get rid of Mr. Glass without getting Thomas. I way I see this is a three way deal. They do not want what we are willing to give period.

I don't get it either. I was never that excited about his game but the fact that this has been around for a full year is downright comical.

^^You're right...Bibby is a good player. We're just tired of hearing this OLD rumor. Wake me up if a Bibby deal ever goes down.

Bibby is a good player but that still doesn't mean he's worth anything close to what Kings fans have been saying. He's been injured half of each of the last 2 seasons and he didn't play all that well when he's played. Might he come back to how he was 2 years ago? Sure, but then, maybe not.

Getting him for cheap isn't a realistic expectation, anyway.

You guys do want him, but have to give up a solid packeege.

Really? I never noticed any Bibby rumors till last year.

Yes, Bibby had 19 points and zero (0) assists which just makes him a more seasoned Daniel Gibson who makes a hell of a lot more money.

Since we already have Gibson, I am not in favor of taking the Kings Garbage (ie. KT) off their hands for marginal improvement talent wise and making the CAVs cap a disaster area.

A Solid package to some Kings fans seems to indicate distant past value which isn't the same as the present.

Bibby hasn't played with this team for over 2 months. Getting assists requires some kind of rhythm with ones teammates. That will come in time. But the first thing he could do to HELP the team was to shoot (what he does best). As he learns the offense and how his teammates are playing then expect him to put up 5-7 assists per game.
